Playing around with expandable / collapsible blades in Omarchy Linux for finding/viewing/managing files. Considering it an alt to Nautilus file mgr that's bit more aligned to the aesthetic / UX in Omarchy. Maybe your operating system can be your IDE?

@OmarchyLinux It's beautiful What about making it keyboard driven? With vim bindings

@OmarchyLinux Yeah I added that!

@OmarchyLinux Perfect!!!

@OmarchyLinux You should have your agent read apples HIG and motion design docs. Then apply those to that entry transition, and anything else you may want to animate.

@OmarchyLinux Will do thank you! I am learning a lot and this whole world is new to me I appreciate you taking the time to point me a helpful and informative direction to improve this!

@OmarchyLinux No problem! Demo video looks cool! Apple publishes a bunch of research and guidelines, etc. on websites they run that are free to access, have your clanker learn from that, I think it will go a long way! Great job!

@OmarchyLinux That's a good suggestion. If I get time I'll try to read them myself too it seems like a valuable and interesting resource I wasn't aware of! Appreciate it!!

@OmarchyLinux Whoa this is very cool. Can I be notified somehow when it’s available?

@OmarchyLinux Yes will do!

@OmarchyLinux This looks awesome

@OmarchyLinux Thanks! Will share it when I get a chance!

@OmarchyLinux LOVE IT. Just so you know, you don't only have to create bar plugins, you can make a plugin a detachable app as well. I have not seen many people create them yet.

@OmarchyLinux Yeah I've been dabbling in this for a few bigger ideas! There's a lot of potential and we definitely shouldn't over use the bar and widgets

@OmarchyLinux Tho, I personally would love a new File Manager that runs qt instead of GTK, so it themes properly with the rest of the system. That's a big project in itself though.

@OmarchyLinux That fits visually to the email client i am baking rn

@OmarchyLinux It looks nice but I dont see why this should be a sidebar instead of a normal window. what if I want to use this side by side with something else, and I dont want it to cover part of the other window?

@OmarchyLinux That's a good point! I'll see about making it a full window, too.

@OmarchyLinux Stop using the mouse !! Make it keyboard centric

@OmarchyLinux Much needed! Nautilus is great, but it truly doesn't align with Omarchy aesthetics. Been waiting for an alternative

@OmarchyLinux amazing idea, when will you ship it?

@OmarchyLinux Plan to work on it more the next days. Day job and two young kids makes for little time, but mostly wanted to share the idea and design to see whether anyone else found it interesting :) Lots more ideas in this so really happy with the positive response!!

@OmarchyLinux if you push it to Github and invite me, I can work on it too if you want. Got a day job + kids too, so maybe combined we are like one person haha

@OmarchyLinux I like it the other way, my editor is my os. Some time ago I was running emacs as my windows manager. Exwm. That was cool.

@OmarchyLinux Using a mouse for a file manager widget? Blasphemy!! It looks really cool though. Kind of like Neotree, but for the OS. All too often the file mgr is something you just want to pop in, do what ya need, then get out of the way.

@OmarchyLinux Looks awesome!.

@OmarchyLinux Cool

@OmarchyLinux Wait I kinda love this

@OmarchyLinux This would be very useful for me.

@OmarchyLinux oh interesting.

@OmarchyLinux It's incredible I love it

@OmarchyLinux That's really -really- cool

@OmarchyLinux OS as the IDE…. What a provocative thought

@OmarchyLinux Love

@OmarchyLinux Looks really good. I like the concept!

@OmarchyLinux WooOOOOooo... That looks pretty cool.

@OmarchyLinux whoa, really great, I think we all need that

@OmarchyLinux Is it a plug in ? Can we have it ?

@OmarchyLinux Will share it soon!

@OmarchyLinux Nautilus feels out of place on Omarchy

@OmarchyLinux I wish this would be the default file manager for Omarchy

@OmarchyLinux How does the blade interact with other tiled windows? Is it an overlay floating above them or does it fold into the tiled layout?

@OmarchyLinux Where can I find this?

@OmarchyLinux I am still working on it :) will post when I share it.

@OmarchyLinux I love this! 😀👍

@OmarchyLinux This is very promising! Awesome concept!

@OmarchyLinux Nice is it out already?

@OmarchyLinux Not yet!

@OmarchyLinux Oooh interesting ! I love it 🤩

@OmarchyLinux Holy crap. I have been playing around with Omarchy endlessly for a year and I never thought about screwing with Nautilus. 🤦♂️ You have just deepened my rabbit hole significantly. I may never bathe again.

@OmarchyLinux Can you not call this "alignment"? Pretty please.
