So true. my son is in 7th and tournaments are wild. some teams are small and others look like men. i think 13u should be 13 u with a age grace period and not by grade.

Agreed. People want their kid on elite teams, when fit and opportunity should be the priority. Winning AAU tournaments in 5-9th grade divisions doesn't mean anything. Development is what matters.

I agree to an extent I coach two 7th grade AAU teams one that’s been together for a little over a year and a development team development team gets smashed out 39-17 but are developing my other team maxes out bigger stronger teams bc we focus on fundamental basketball.
