As a programmer myself i say this you can use AI but first know the fundamentals and i do recommend C and C++ for OOP, coz once you know the fundamentals even if you use AI when its not available you won't be a useless retard

"tests slow you down" Oh boi. After 10 years of SE I have learned only one thing: The only way to deploy fast is to develop slow.

Don't listen to anyone or at best - carefully select a few who's opinion you value, ignore everyone else, then: follow your curiosity and choose whatever works for you in that moment P.S. engagement bait, I know, I know. Well, so be it.

Actually do something and have conviction in your real experience, take everything else you read with a grain of salt. It was only after really trying to vibe code that I realized that either 1) it’s not good at complex code or 2) im not good enough to use it. Either way, data

The software engineering recruiters expects you to know every language and framework, have 3-5 years of experience after graduation, and learn how to use Ai but don’t use AI, help😭

I hate that everything here is specifically deemed under caveats. For example: good code doesn't require comments, but good comments explain the entire script and help the tomorrow guy if it is not finished or written in pseudo.

you should learn some C. don't worry about becoming an expert at it. but you should write something, even if its trivial, at that level. you'll appreciate features of other languages.

And this is why I gave up on CS in college. I was fine with just learning Java to a degree where I could go out and do my own stuff (reading docs still sucks tho)… nowadays I can’t even imagine how terrible it is for CS students.
