India is on track to power the future with its first indigenous hydrogen-powered train. 🚆 A 10-coach Hydrogen Fuel Cell train will operate on the Jind–Sonipat section in Haryana, powered by a 1200 kW hydrogen fuel cell propulsion system and running at a maximum speed of 75 kmph. The train emits only water vapour, making it a clean, energy-efficient alternative to conventional fossil fuel-based rail transport. With this milestone, India joins an elite group of nations, including Germany, Japan, China and the United States, exploring hydrogen fuel cell technology for sustainable rail operations.
