Driving Economic Acceleration through the Pune Growth Hub Initiative! Inaugurated the 'Pune Metropolitan Region Growth Hub' initiative and presided over the signing of Statement of Intent between NITI Aayog, Government of Maharashtra and Pune International Centre for preparing the economic plan of the Pune economic region. Pune is a manufacturing capital with reputed educational institutions and abundant skilled human resources. With proper planning and focused policies, a strong ecosystem can be built here. As India rises to become the third-largest economy globally, leveraging the potential of cities which contribute nearly 65% of the GDP becomes even more important. Today, human resource is the key driver of investment. With the right sector-wise policies and necessary infrastructure, Pune’s contribution to the State’s GDP can grow significantly. The Growth Hub will offer a clear roadmap to harness this potential. Major infrastructure projects like Pune’s international airport and ring road are expected to greatly boost the region’s economy. Maharashtra is now competing on the global stage. In this context, ensuring a hassle-free business environment is essential, and it calls for a change in overall mindset. The Growth Hub must evolve from a concept to an active institution. It will require collective efforts from administration, citizens, and institutions. Maharashtra sets to become the first State to implement such a large-scale regional growth model, setting the path towards a Viksit Maharashtra. From Enterprise to Excellence: Maharashtra’s New Growth Story! Maharashtra’s strength has always gone beyond numbers — though the figures speak volumes. Contributing 40% to India’s GDP, attracting 31% of FDI, leading in start-ups with 25% of India’s share, the highest number of unicorns, MSMEs, and as the largest bearing oil exporter, the state stands as the country’s economic powerhouse. But the true strength lies in the enterprising spirit of its people — those gathered here and countless others who’ve built this thriving ecosystem. This dialogue is a convergence of ideas, aspirations, and decisive action. The goal is clear — to make Maharashtra the most dynamic, investor-friendly, and sustainable destination in India. Over the past decade, this industrial ecosystem has expanded beyond MMR and Pune, transforming regions once seen as remote. Gadchiroli is fast emerging as India’s new steel hub. Amravati has built a full textile value chain under PM MITRA. Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar is shaping up as the country’s EV capital. Nashik leads in defense manufacturing, with a dedicated corridor taking shape. Pune, Navi Mumbai, and Raigad continue to drive advanced industries, while the upcoming Vadhvan Port — three times bigger than JNPT — will redefine Maharashtra’s logistics and trade future. Even as industries flourish, sustainability stays at the core. By 2030, 52% of the state’s power will be green. Gadchiroli’s mining sector is shifting to clean fuels, and plans are in place to plant one crore trees to enhance ecological balance and environmental sustainability. Complementing this growth is MAITRI — Maharashtra’s true single-window system that offers end-to-end, hassle-free integration for investors, ensuring ease of doing business in the truest sense. India today stands as the world’s next big growth story — and Maharashtra must be the first chapter of that story. The remarkable progress seen over the last 10 years has been made possible by the dynamic leadership, progressive policies, and unwavering support of Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji. Maharashtra remains fully committed to contributing to his dream of a $5 trillion economy, a Viksit Bharat, and building a Viksit Maharashtra that leads from the front — in enterprise, innovation, and sustainable, inclusive growth. Hon Governor CP Radhakrishnan ji, DCM Eknath Shinde, Minister Uday Samant and Minister Jaykumar Rawal were present. Vision, Growth, Opportunity — Maharashtra at IABCA 2025! It was a momentous occasion to be at the India–Australia Business and Community Alliance (IABCA) Global Leaders Forum 2025 in Mumbai today. A forum that brings together vision, leadership, and opportunity on a single stage. The energy in the room reflected the growing strength of India–Australia ties, with business, education, and innovation shaping a future of collaboration. India and Australia stand firm on a strong wicket; the time has come to play a 20-20 game in business and cooperation. In today’s dynamic geopolitical environment, both countries must work closely to deepen their partnership. Maharashtra powers India’s growth with 15% GDP, 20% exports, 30% FDI, and 60% data centre capacity. Leading in start-ups and unicorns, it is set to become the EV and steel capital. The comprehensive economic treaty signed recently has opened new doors for mutual growth, and Maharashtra is ready to lead this journey. Our Government is committed towards helping industry and entrepreneurs. All permissions are now given quickly through an online system. Australian businesses should make use of this and invest in Maharashtra. Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji has rightly said that India thrives in its States, and Maharashtra exemplifies this spirit. Already past the half-trillion-dollar economy mark, the State is steadily progressing with robust infrastructure, and global partnerships, positioning itself to become India’s first trillion-dollar sub-national economy by 2029. Vadhavan Port will rank among the world’s top ten, making Maharashtra a maritime superpower. Super expressways will cut logistics costs, while the Navi Mumbai International Airport opens on 30th September 2025. Nearby, Educity will host 12 global universities, with the University of Western Australia and Curtin University already on board, partnering with Gondwana University for Gadchiroli’s steel hub. This collaboration across sectors is reshaping the India–Australia bond. As Hon PM Modi Ji reminded us, the relationship once defined by the three C’s (Commonwealth, cricket, curry), then three D’s (democracy, diaspora, dosti), and later three E’s (energy, economy, education), now stands on the stronger pillars of mutual trust and respect. Maharashtra is proud to be at the forefront of this journey, driving opportunities that will strengthen India–Australia relations and ensure shared prosperity. Minister Jaykumar Rawal, Australia's High Commissioner to India, HE Philip Green OAM and other dignitaries were present. Maharashtra on the Move: From Ports to Prosperity! Inaugurated the ‘Maharashtra Maritime Summit 2025’ with a deep sense of purpose, to transform our maritime strength into a powerful engine of growth for Maharashtra and India. The sea is not just a boundary, it has always been a bridge to opportunity and prosperity. That belief anchors Maharashtra's Maritime Summit, where today’s deliberations focus on how our maritime strength can fuel growth, improve connectivity, and place India at the forefront of global trade. Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji has always envisioned a port-led economy. His vision is reflected in the 'India Maritime Vision 2030' and 'India Amrit Kaal Maritime Vision 2047'. Inspired by this, Maharashtra is shaping a bold maritime roadmap, rooted in a coastline rich with legacy, especially across Mumbai and Konkan. Mumbai is said to be India’s economic, commercial, entertainment, and financial capital. But what truly made it the economic engine and powerhouse are its two crucial pillars—Mumbai Port and JNPA Port. These ports played a foundational role in shaping Mumbai’s position. To lead in global trade, scale, speed, and seamless connectivity are essential. Vadhvan Port marks a major leap forward. With the Government of India as the major partner and Maharashtra holding a 26% share, development is progressing rapidly. Port connectivity is being transformed through expressways, access-controlled roads, and stronger last-mile infrastructure, ensuring faster cargo movement across the State. The Sagarmala project, envisioned and driven by Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, has given a significant push to expanding rail networks and enabling multi-modal access, with strong support from the Central Government through major infrastructure investments. Near Vadhvan, India’s first offshore airport will soon give us a seamless sea-air cargo hub. Our broader vision includes shipbuilding, ship recycling, and a strong push for water transport, especially in Mumbai and the MMR region—to not just boost trade, but also improve ease of living. Waterways remain the most affordable and sustainable mode of transport. As India works to reduce logistics costs and enhance competitiveness, the role of waterways in driving future growth will be pivotal. India is on track to become the world’s third largest economy. The climb to second and first will be challenging, but the path has been clearly laid out by Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, and Maharashtra is fully committed to leading the way. All ideas and recommendations emerging from this summit will be studied closely and every meaningful insight will contribute to shaping Maharashtra’s maritime policy, one that lifts the State and the Nation towards true maritime leadership. Minister Nitesh Rane and other dignitaries were present. Narendra Modi Nitesh Rane #Maharashtra #MaritimeSummit2025 #Mumbai
