We continue our work on sanctions—today, we applied two new sanctions packages. The first targets those who betrayed Ukraine, and the second focuses on Russia’s military production—those legal entities and individuals working to fuel terror. We will continue to make our sanctions, our pressure on the enemy, synchronized with everyone in the world who, like Ukrainians, wants real peace. I am grateful to everyone supporting our country and our people, to each person doing everything in their power to make Ukraine stronger. And I thank all our warriors.

Finnish President Stubb: Russia has been waging its war of aggression against Ukraine for almost four years. Its actions are illegal and immoral. We are closer to peace than ever during the war, but at the same time we cannot be sure whether Russia is ready for peace. Peace is most often a compromise, and we must prepare for the fact that all parts of a peace agreement will likely not meet our sense of justice. However, we will do everything we can to ensure that Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity are preserved. Ukraine is part of a free and democratic Europe now and in the future. We will continue to support Ukraine, we will not tire, and together with our allies we will ensure that Russia will never again attack its neighbor.

During today’s meeting with President Macron, we aligned our positions ahead of tomorrow’s meeting of the Coalition of the Willing leaders and discussed preparatory work on security guarantees. I believe that our efforts will deliver strong security guarantees for Ukraine. We are all working on this together. We also discussed defense support for Ukraine – addressing current needs, strengthening sanctions against Russia, and the possibilities for using frozen Russian assets. Particular attention was paid to our path toward the European Union. We appreciate France’s support in this regard.
