I understand Ubisoft is trying hard to stay above water at this point, I mean their stock is down -93.07% for the past 5 years. But focusing on quality is just a small piece of the puzzle, they should go back to their roots and just simply tell a good story. Get rid of the bloat, bring back motion captured cutscenes instead of horrible facial animations and tell a good story. I don't care if the map is larger than their previous game or that they have more side quests (which are mostly mid), gamers just want to enjoy a good story. There are so many recent Ubisoft games and they haven't given me that feeling of watching an actual masterpiece being told because their stories feel like Ubisoft is afraid of taking any risks. Assassins Creed IV is a perfect example of how bold Ubisoft used to be, when I experienced this cutscene for the first time, it sent shivers down my spine due to how good it was. I really hope AC: IV Resynced will be a success so Ubisoft can focus on giving us great games again.

Ubisoft has gained this reputation after years making games that have been bad by current AAA standards and dogshit practices that every time I post Assassin’s Creed BF Resynced content, there has always been a comment or reply asking me “how much did Ubisoft pay you?” To make it clear, I bought this game with my own money and I was never paid to praise or promote it. Resynced has its fair share of serious issues that cannot be overlooked; buying all paid cosmetics costing more than the game itself, the cutscenes being capped to 30FPS or the fact that it requires online connection in the physical disc. All of these are valid issues and criticism that Ubisoft as a company should do better. That being said it, compared to what Ubisoft was making these past few years, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced for the most part is a pretty good video-game imo, they've done an excellent job at remaking the original game. The upgraded visuals make the experience much better, new game mechanics like underwater swimming at any time and the removal of loading screens when docking or boarding is such a welcome feature. They've also done an amazing job at optimizing this game for PC which is quite rare these days for open world games. What are your thoughts?

I came across this old Ubisoft video about Studio Alice, and it explains so much as to why writing quality and standards have completely declined from back then to now. So basically, Ubisoft back in the day during their prime era created an entire internal group to improve the quality of their writing. Writers would bring in their scripts to get another set of eyes on them, and then have problems pointed out, and actually be challenged when something wasn't working. Corey May in this video talks about how important it was for writers to have somewhere to go for HONEST feedback. He talks about when he was writing games himself, there were times where he had nobody to turn to for help or guidance. Nobody to look at his work and tell him what they thought. Studio Alice was partly his attempt to give the writers the support system he wished he had. He says writers would come to him and basically say, "I need your help. I would love it if I could show you my work and you could tell me what you think of it." What is said at 4:57 literally describes the current state of Ubisoft writing quality. Lowkey, she kinda foreshadowed today's Ubisoft. I find this so funny because watching this video after my tweet about the Ubisoft writer seemingly being oblivious to how much worse the new Black Flag Resynced writing feels compared to the old really puts things into perspective.

Every year you bring in 3,4,5, or more new players. Recruit high schoolers, and it’ll take time for them to mature through college game reps. Bring in transfers, and it’ll take time acclimating to your program’s culture. The results will be ups and downs throughout your season. Coaches can’t get too high with the wins or too low with the losses. Strong cultures with transformational leaders and players who buy in and develop mental toughness will have the best chances for success.
