Ubisoft has gained this reputation after years making games that have been bad by current AAA standards and dogshit practices that every time I post Assassin’s Creed BF Resynced content, there has always been a comment or reply asking me “how much did Ubisoft pay you?” To make it... clear, I bought this game with my own money and I was never paid to praise or promote it. Resynced has its fair share of serious issues that cannot be overlooked; buying all paid cosmetics costing more than the game itself, the cutscenes being capped to 30FPS or the fact that it requires online connection in the physical disc. All of these are valid issues and criticism that Ubisoft as a company should do better. That being said it, compared to what Ubisoft was making these past few years, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced for the most part is a pretty good video-game imo, they've done an excellent job at remaking the original game. The upgraded visuals make the experience much better, new game mechanics like underwater swimming at any time and the removal of loading screens when docking or boarding is such a welcome feature. They've also done an amazing job at optimizing this game for PC which is quite rare these days for open world games. What are your thoughts?show more

Ubisoft should go back to using motion capture cutscenes for every new Assassin's Creed game that comes out from now on. Its shocking to see just how atrocious the cutscenes in Assassin's Creed Shadows are compared to Black Flag Resynced.

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced First Impressions The good stuff: > The most visually impressive Assassin's Creed game to date > Water Physics are incredible and the quality of it is top notch > Diving under water is such a welcome feature that I've spent over 20 minutes during my first hour of playthrough under water just exploring > Facial animations during cutscenes are so good I am genuinely shocked that I even have to mention this. Compared to AC: Shadows cutscenes, Resynced is a generational difference The bad stuff: > Combat is stiff > Parkour doesn't click with me for some reason and I honestly expected Ubisoft to have better Parkour mechanics after all this time > Chase missions have also been greatly nerfed > I didn't encounter many bugs, the camera going all over the place for a few seconds after a cutscene (this happened twice) and the weather sometimes changing in a split second after a cutscene. Nothing game-breaking and overall I'd say this is a very polished title Good job Ubisoft.

I can't wait to experience the beauty of Assassin's Creed Black Flag again now that Ubisoft has confirmed the remake. AC: IV Black Flag holds a special place in my heart and Ubisoft recent track record with their latest games hasn't been all that good either so the only thing I'm really hoping this time is that the remake is faithful to the series. Don't mess this up Ubisoft!

I understand Ubisoft is trying hard to stay above water at this point, I mean their stock is down -93.07% for the past 5 years. But focusing on quality is just a small piece of the puzzle, they should go back to their roots and just simply tell a good story. Get rid of the bloat, bring back motion captured cutscenes instead of horrible facial animations and tell a good story. I don't care if the map is larger than their previous game or that they have more side quests (which are mostly mid), gamers just want to enjoy a good story. There are so many recent Ubisoft games and they haven't given me that feeling of watching an actual masterpiece being told because their stories feel like Ubisoft is afraid of taking any risks. Assassins Creed IV is a perfect example of how bold Ubisoft used to be, when I experienced this cutscene for the first time, it sent shivers down my spine due to how good it was. I really hope AC: IV Resynced will be a success so Ubisoft can focus on giving us great games again.

I'm playing GTA V on a PS3 and its been such a fun experience. I remember when was a kid and playing this for the first time, I didn't give a damn about how BAD the framerate was during driving. I was constantly in awe by how realistic this game looked back then that the framerate wasn't something that was going to stop me from enjoying it. Don't get me wrong, this game is running on a PS3 that has 256mb of RAM and 256mb of VRAM which is some black magic itself and the fact that Rockstar Games managed to have such a massive open world game with that much traffic and NPCs running in real-time is a feat on its own.

In Far Cry 2, shooting an enemy in the leg causes him to retreat and crawl back to a safer spot. In another instance, you can see that another NPC quickly comes to aid his friend that has just been shot. This was in 2008 and in-game character AI was seemingly a hundred times smarter and better than the games that we see from Ubisoft today. In fact, most recent Ubisoft games, shooting an NPC in the leg doesn't even do anything that is close to this, no one comes to aid or anything like that... Visuals have been progressing so much lately and you'd think the same would go for in-game features like NPCs not being braindead, but for some reason NPC AI has evolved backwards on a large number of video-games, not just Ubisoft. Watch Dogs E3 Demo 2012 Ubisoft fooled the whole world by showing off Gameplay footage that even if they were asked today with all the resources they have to create a Game that would have this kind of physics and NPC interaction mechanics, they wouldn't be capable of making. Watch Dogs isn't a bad game at all, I personally enjoyed it when I played it but holy shit did Ubisoft set the expectations of this game way too high

Man Watch Dogs 2 didn’t get nowhere near the attention that it deserved. This Game has an amazing art direction, has some nice little details, parkour and is so beautiful graphically that this could very well be passed as a current gen Game. I don’t exactly know how Ubisoft managed to go from this to the garbage called Watch Dogs Legion and butcher the series. Nonetheless, playing Watch Dogs 2 makes me believe that Ubisoft has that dog in them which is capable of making an amazing open world Game if they only focus on delivering a complete experience and improve on their storywriting.

Why don't we have this level of NPC density in recent AAA Games? Assassins Creed: Unity was by no means perfect, you can clearly see some NPCs popping into the frame while you're playing and some others not load properly, but it came out in 2014! It was designed on previous-gen consoles that ran on a Hard Drive and it was a game that was so rushed, Ubisoft never bothered to give it the love that it deserved. If there's one thing that still fascinates me about this game even today is the sheer number of NPCs that are rendered into this open world, it simply feels alive. By 2025, you'd think that most AAA game studios would have already gotten over these issues like NPCs popping into the frame and we would have Open World games that feel more alive than ever before. Nope, instead of huge number of NPCs, modern gaming companies are more focused on bringing Ray Tracing features which I have nothing against if it wasn't for having a such a small number of NPCs. I'm not an expert to determine what the exact reason behind having so few NPCs really is but I honestly would love if Ubisoft gave another shot at this kind of tech. Thankfully one of the games that looks like it will have this huge number of NPCs is Grand Theft Auto VI, by the screenshots and Trailers alone, it reminded me of how alive Unity really felt and I can't wait until that game comes out.

When I saw that Assassin's Creed Unity was getting a 60 FPS update for current gen consoles, I honestly could not wait to see it with my own eyes. And after playing it, I realized it is not just 60 FPS. The game also seems to be upscaled to 4K, which is absolutely insane in my opinion and the game runs incredibly smooth! Many of you know that I have never been the biggest fan of Unity. But I have to admit, maybe it is just placebo, yet it genuinely feels like the game plays better. Almost like the controller responds more precisely to what I actually want to do. I tested it properly in stealth and of course in parkour, and I have to say, it feels amazing! For PC players this might not be anything special. But for someone like me, mainly playing on console, finally being able to experience Assassin’s Creed Unity at 60 FPS is a game changer. And by the way, co op also seems to be working normally again. This is honestly crazy to see!

Ubisoft redemption arc. Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is looking fantastic. Like a return to the old Ubisoft before all the BS that destroyed the studio. I have to say this makes we want to play the game. Some details: - Remake with anvil engine. - Upgraded combat - New content: new quests, characters and story - No multiplayer mode, focused on Edward's Caribbean story. A lot of original devs returned to help make this. Up for preorder now. Ubisoft really lost their way, culminating in the scuttling of the company and spinning of the best IPs to a new Tencent invested entity. Gotta say it's looking like they are starting to make the right moves.

I'm at chapter 4 of South of Midnight and I am just speechless man this game is shaping up to be game of the year for me this is by far one of the most creative games that has ever been developed by an Xbox studio. Yall go support this game I am having a blast I am definitely buying this game they nailed the setting and music the art style is top tier this is how it supposed to be done shoutout to Compulsion Games for doing a fantastic job!

I'm always blown away by the fact that Rockstar Games casually made some of the best and most realistic water physics in 2008. GTA IV is the prime example of Rockstar Games focusing heavily on bringing realistic physics in a video-game. Everything from how a car handles, NPC ragdoll and water simulation in Grand Theft Auto IV was way ahead of its time and it even beats most of AAA games that we've seen these past few years when it comes to those game mechanics. Imagine how much ahead GTA 6 is going to be now that Rockstar Games has much more processing power to work with on current gen consoles

In this side by side comparison you can see how easy it is to tackle this first enemy in Resynced (I intentionally don't tackle him to show how he slows down) In the original game, this same chase was quite difficult as the enemy NPC wouldn't slow down and even climb some buildings.

My biggest criticism for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced so far is the cutscenes quality in the new side missions For some reason that I cannot comprehend, they are not motion captured and instead use the RPG generic cutscene system Edward moves and is animated like Kassandra with a constant creepy smile, it stands out so badly especially because the main story cutscenes have kept the gorgeous original motion capture that look like lifelike to this day, making these seem even more awkward to be in the same game. They are better than they were in Shadows but still not as good as real cutscenes. The argument could be that its side content so its OK but all side content in AC4 was motion captured fully, like the Templar Hunts. I literally cannot understand why modern Ubisoft refuses to step into the mocap booth for new stuff, surely this is the most important thing for a remake is for new content to match up to the old? Now, my biggest fear is this cutscene qualith is in the 8 new main story missions, it will result in these new missions standing out in every possible BAD way from the main game. Potentially being a stain on the whole experience. I truly hope these missions got the respect and attention that they should have, otherwise, anything else would be a downgrade from the original.
