Yes

Looking forward to your optimization guide, especially the non-RT settings. From what I’ve tested, Medium RT preset makes a pretty noticeable difference in the shadows compared to Low preset or OFF, so it seems like the setting to aim for if the GPU can handle it

Hey man I think u have to follow the warez community, u are loosing views and money from who wants to play the new silent hill, in my opinion, talking in terms of priority, you are working on the wrong video....but you know maybe I'm just stupid.

Why are shadows so bad when RTXDI is off?

BenchmarKing's profile picture

Because the game's regular shadow maps are pretty limited in both quality and resolution.

Games from PS4 era had better shadow quality without relying on RTX. Are they knowingly making Shadows and Reflections worse to force users to upgrade to stronger RTX cards?

@BMKing23 which open world game had better shadowmaps? especially on ps4 lol, they all suffer from same low res and flickering

@BMKing23 I’m talking about PC games from PS4 generation. Red Dead Redemption 2 had good quality shadows, didn’t require Raytracing support. Last of Us 2 had proper shadows even on the PS4.

Is RTXDI different than RTGI?

I won't cover it, at least for now. I was hoping to get early access and have enough time to prepare a video, but they refused to send me a review code. Now, there's just not enough time, especially with so many games coming out. It's impossible to cover everything, so I have to prioritize some games over others. I might check it out over the next few days and share some thoughts here.

I wrote to you because my setup with 5070 and i5 14600 is having only 60 fps max with drops to 3, sometimes insanely bad optimization, without framegen option

Yeah, I heard it's pretty rough. You're probably running out of VRAM. Try lowering the Texture Quality or disabling Hardware Ray Tracing. For better performance, focus on Global Illumination, Reflections, Shadows, and Fog. Typical UE5 stuff. I also heard that Reflex can cause more microstuttering, so try disabling it.

Sliders should have been the standard in PC gaming, but now we’re stuck with presets. The difference here between high and ultra is like medium and ultra…
