Really appreciate how thoughtful Jordan Burroughs is here about why he never made the transition to MMA: "I really considered it, like heavily considered it. One of the hardest parts about growing older, Ariel, is that you have to let dreams die. There are certain things that, when you're...

Mark's full statement regarding the recent issue : Before we actually get into the music though, there have been some things that I wanted to say to you guys directly. It spent on my mind and I just felt like I had to get this off my chest and so I just felt like I had to turn this live on on and to really just tell you guys how we felt regarding the T-shirt with the confederate flag on it, I am aware of the pain that it brought to a lot of people, especially to my black fans, to the Black community and I should have, I am very responsible for it, but I really wanted to directly tell you guys that it really wasn't my intention with me knowing the meaning of the flag, the historical significance of it, it really shouldn't have happened. And it really does not reflect who I am as a person. But seeing so many fans being hurt by it, it really hurt me as well. I had no intention knowing the meaning of the flag, and I should have, there are no excuses to that. But I just wanted to promise you guys directly that something like that will never happen again with me and my whole team we have made, we have taken steps to make sure that something like that doesn't happen, but I just, and I know that a lot of people have been waiting for me to kind of address this directly and I've been sitting on this for a while and I really wanted to get this off my chest and so I thought today was at the right time for me to tell you guys. It really breaks my heart to think that maybe the trust has been broken, but I promise you that I'll make it up to you guys, just with my actions and with my music. I'll make sure to make it up to you guys if you will allow me to have one more chance. I'll try my best to get and so once again I truly would like to apologize for the pain that that picture is brought to a lot of people and I promise to educate myself more on that matter as well. When I first heard about it, actually I read about it, I was shocked and we and our entire team made sure that it wasn't on any official content but the picture got leaked. We instantly uploaded an apology as well. But now I really felt like I had to personally take action for this. Once again I would like to apologize for bringing so much pain to a lot of people. It really doesn't. It's not, It had no intention, no personal intention. So yeah, and thank you for taking the time to wait for me to really address this. I know a lot of fans have also been believing in me.But yeah, thank you for waiting till this moment.

Hello everyone, hello. It’s raining a lot outside, right? Yes, I hope everyone’s being careful not to get caught in the rain. As for food… I’m planning to eat a little later. Yeah, I’ll eat later. Last night, I… I really thought a lot. I kept thinking and thinking, and after all that, I felt like - for the people I love, I should at least speak honestly. Rather than just pretending nothing happened and letting it pass, I wanted to say this properly. Because when I’ve done something wrong, I want to say I’m sorry. I believe the closer the relationship, the more careful you have to be. And yesterday - honestly, it was such a good day, right? It was such a good day… it was our Jongho’s birthday. We each congratulated him personally, but, if I’m honest, I don’t think I thought deeply enough about it. I don’t think I did, and there’s really no excuse for that. Because all of you love ATEEZ and love Jongho, and I should have been more thoughtful, more detailed. So I really wanted to sincerely apologize for that part. Even though Jongho and I are close, that’s beside the point. The closer you are to someone, the more you should be considerate. But because I thought, “Ah, we’re close,” I just lightly said, “Oh, his birthday passed already,” in a joking way… and I’ve been thinking about that. I think my wording yesterday was quite strong. You don’t have to unconditionally hold me or comfort me. Really, it’s okay. I’m really okay. I mean it. But still… when I think that my words might have hurt you, it doesn’t matter how I am. It just keeps coming to mind, over and over. Honestly… it’s true that my wording was strong. I think I was too excited, too comfortable - maybe I got carried away. The words themselves came out too harsh, and I regret that. And I want to be clear - I never, ever meant something like “mokie jolida/being/to choked” toward you guys. It was just something I said lightly, the kind of thing friends might say to each other. But still… when I thought about it later, just the fact that you had to hear those words made my heart feel uneasy. All through last night, I kept thinking, “Maybe… maybe I shouldn’t have said something like that.” Words with that kind of negative tone - I really shouldn’t say them. I wasn’t thinking clearly. And, because my family is really, really close - my mom and dad are both very warm (hearted) people, and my noona/older sister sometimes calls me “oppa” in a cute, teasing way. But I guess I got too carried away and just said it without thinking… Still, one thing I can say for sure - and I’m not just saying this - in our family, my noona/sister is my noona/sister. Truly. Even though I said it jokingly, now I realize that it was inappropriate, so I’ll be more careful from now on. The reason I wanted to talk to you like this is because, even if it’s just a small thing, when I do something wrong, I want to say it right away. I really want to. And if I do something wrong, I want you to tell me. Because I’m ignorant about some things. There are many things I still don’t know. So sometimes I make mistakes. I hope you can tell me comfortably. I kept thinking about when I should do this live - I thought, in the morning some people have work, some people are busy - and after thinking about it, I decided to come now, because I really wanted to tell you this. Of course, everyone feels things differently. Depending on how someone interprets it, it can feel different. But at least for me - if I look back objectively and realize that what I did wasn’t right, I want to admit it. I was the one at fault, so I should admit it. What use is pride in front of you all, really? When I think about it calmly - if I did wrong, then that’s wrong, no excuses. That’s why I wanted to speak openly about it.

#SEONGHWA about the making of Skin 🩶 ⭐️: My solo song? When the idea of doing solo songs first came up.. there were opinions about how to do the songs and. I thought, I absolutely want Hongjoong to do it because he knows me best. And because I trust Hongjoong’s ability, even though we could have gotten something (produced) from outside, I thought that what would satisfy me the most would be the version of Skin that Hongjoong could make. So at first, Hongjoong asked me what kind of mood I wanted to go for and I said that among my nicknames, you know I have “poisonous snake” as one, right? So I wanted to take the keyword and go with the snake vibe. So when I said I wanted to go with the snake concept, Hongjoong thought about it for like 10 seconds right there and said, “Then let’s go with Skin for the title”. So, that was really great and I told him I liked that that idea, that it was nice. Then I actually sent him about six? ㅎㅎ reference links and said I wanted to go with that kind of mood (I referenced), so ㅎㅎ I really bugged Hongjoong a lot. He was a bit nervous too, he kept sending me updates on it, like, from the early guide stages. He sent messages/comments like, “For now the instrumental will probably be like this. It would be great if it hit hard here and for the chorus, if we go with a sexy vibe it would be awesome.” And when the full guide was first finished I listened to it and just clapped, because I liked it so much. Also, since it’s the first solo song I’m doing, having Hongjoong do it was great. And I really like it, so… it is going to be even better when the song is officially released. #성화

Rick Rubin tells Andrew Huberman how he deals with creative or writer’s block. He treats his work like a diary entry (and doesn’t worry about internal or external judgment): ➡️ “What's the cause of the block? The block is usually something that's either personal ("I'm not good enough") or it can be a confidence issue ("I don't have anything to say") or it could be...thinking about someone else ("nobody's going to like what I make"). Do you know what I'm saying? So, it's either fear of self-judgment or external judgment. If you're making something with a freedom of "this is something I'm making for myself for now", that is all [you have to do]. It is a diary entry. Everything I make is a diary entry. The beauty of a diary entry is that I can write my diary entry and you can't tell me that my diary entry wasn't good enough. Or that [the diary entry] is not what I experienced. Of course it's what I experienced: I'm writing a personal diary for myself and no one else can judge if it is my experience of my life. Everything we make can be that: a personal reflection of who we are in that moment of time. It doesn't have to be the greatest you could ever do. It doesn't have to have any expectation that it's going to change the world. It doesn't have to sell a certain number of copies for any reason. It doesn't have any of those things at all. It is "I'm making this thing for me and I want to do it to the best of my ability and to where I feel good about it". [The work] is honest of where I'm at and if you're living in this world of just being honest to where you're at, there's nothing blocking you. There are no blocks. The blocks are all based on dealing with a different force or a different perception that is made up.” ⬅️
