Obsidian 1.8.3 is now available to all for desktop and mobile! - Web viewer. New core plugin lets you open external links within Obsidian on desktop. This makes it easier to read linked content without leaving the app and improves multitasking for web research. The plugin can be enabled manually in settings. - Improved iCloud sync. Obsidian no longer waits to confirm that configuration files have synced. - New mobile onboarding. This guided flow helps new mobile users create and sync a vault. - New "Download attachments for current file" command. Downloads all externally embedded images and replaces the external links with internal embeds. The Visual Studio Code insiders version that just shipped and will ship in the next few days will come with an insane amount of new capabilities. A few highlights: - You can now run sub-agents in parallel. Yes, really. I even attached a video. - Major UX improvements for sub agents, especially visible in the chat window - A new search tool wrapped as a sub-agent that iteratively runs multiple search tools: semantic_search, file_search, grep_search Which connects nicely to the point above: multiple searches running in parallel, efficiently and fast - Anthropic’s Message API is now enabled by default - You can choose the model for the cloud agent (three available, all premium) - Extended thinking support when using the Claude cloud agent This is part of the broader multi-vendor cloud support under AgentsHQ I wrote about a few weeks ago - Tasks sent to the background agent (basically the CLI tool) now always run in isolation, each with its own git worktree - In a multi-repo workspace, assigning a task to a cloud agent prompts you to choose the target repo Same behavior when opening an empty workspace with no repo - Support for building an external index for files not supported by GitHub’s default indexing - UI/UX improvements for starting new sessions and switching between local / background / cloud agents - Skills are now first-class citizens, just like prompt files, with better UX indicating when a skill is loaded - Improved API for dynamic contribution of prompt files New V2 includes skills as part of the model. Curious to see the extensions that will leverage this - Finally, initial support for showing context usage percentage per session - Skills are enabled by default - Resizable chat window and session view. As usual, I’m just shocked by the volume of features this team ships every month. After the holiday slowdown, this one is shaping up to be a wild release.

Tested ChatGPT's new Shopping Research feature and I'm pretty impressed. The UI is adaptive to what you're searching for - it asked me different questions and even organized the results differently when I was looking for "Christmas gift for a 13 year old girl" vs. "best white sneakers for work". It also asks you to rate products while conducting the search to better refine options (with links and reviews provided) - this makes the wait time more tolerable. And IMO, the results are quite good, with detailed justifications for each product. This is a big step up from the other products we've seen in this space (ex. Perplexity Shopping) - I'm curious if they double down on building out UI here...

On every push to main, we sync changes to our Upstash Vector DB. We also built a custom chat interface that retrieves content from Upstash Vector and generates responses via AI SDK + Claude sonnet. The best part: The AI agent uses 𝚝𝚘𝚘𝚕() from AI SDK to retrieve the user's workspace / partner data to provide accurate responses. Finally, if the user needs to speak to a human, we generate a 𝚃𝚒𝚌𝚔𝚎𝚝𝚄𝚙𝚕𝚘𝚊𝚍 UI that lets users upload screenshots + add more context, before creating a ticket on Plain. Beta Blocker 3.6 is here and it introduces a BIG new feature. Here's everything that's new: 🖥️ UI Overhaul. The entire interface has been cleaned up to feel more premium, modern, and less boxed-in. 📐 Better Window Scaling. Wider windows now properly use the available space instead of stretching awkwardly or leaving everything floating in the center. 🎨 Live Preview. The Style tab now includes a real-time preview, so you can see exactly what your block will look like before you enable it. ⚙️ Cleaner Detection Settings. Detection settings have been reorganised and simplified so everything is easier to understand. 🧭 Reworked Help & Settings Layout. Important options are now easier to find with a cleaner settings and help structure. now for the big one… 🔄 REVERSE CENSOR REWORK This is the biggest part of the update. Reverse Censor has been completely rebuilt. Instead of blocking detected areas, it now applies your block across the screen while leaving detected parts visible. today Atlas celebrates it's first anniversary (one day old) so naturally, it's time for v1.1 → the #1 request: play videos & gifs right in the grid (toggle it on in settings) → full svg + pdf support (super handy for storing logos and icons) → ⌘-scroll to zoom (great if you're on a mouse + generally app now is way more stable with a mouse) → like badges on thumbnails (hide-able in settings for a cleaner look) → space to open (macos quick look style, also works on hover) → pan the canvas like figma (space + drag, or middle mouse button) → quick-like straight from the grid with ⌥-click → reduced motion (if the bouncy animations are too much) → big performance boost for power users (tested on a 50K item library) and many more. most of these improvements were based on feature requests and feedback from the app. please keep them coming. i’ve made the mistake of not listening to users enough in the past, trying things differently this time. download → (or use atlas — check for updates from the app's menu)

My current favorite use case: planning summer camps for my kids in SF. It’s a logistical nightmare 😅 but this year Canvas made life a little easier. I built my personal summer camp app directly in Google Search - from a single prompt to working prototype in just seconds!
