If anyone’s gonna do it I can easily see rocket lab being the ones to do it. Though I’m not sure how well slamming a capsule into the ground will work out but hey who knows

do it but if you can't afford the weight or reliability of a chute on return have a spring-loaded airfoil come out on one side that turns it into a really big maple seed once it hits thick air too slow down impact

It’s a mighty fine video, great graphics and everything, but what about this is new? This has been the plan for basically every sample return proposal in the last decade.

Loos great but how does the whole space craft without Martian orbit insertion ie direct mars entry and guaranteed that it'll land somewhere near the rover?

This is great, but we should focus on sampling asteroids more than planets. Yeah we are gonna build a colony on Mars in some time but asteroids would enable us to use their materials for in-space building. In my opinion it's much cooler creating a moon than colonising a planet
