A huge number (in thousands) of cases in NADRA centers across tribal districts, Peshawar and Balochistan need proper verification which are related to Afghan Illegal CNIC obtaining and that must be urgently reviewed by concerned agencies. At the same time, strict action against involved NADRA officers and agents is needed against the illegal issuance of CNICs and Pakistani passports to the afghan nationals. Reports suggest that many Afghan nationals have managed to obtain Pakistani documents and later got involved in criminal activities overseas, including in the Gulf, harming Pakistan’s image. This issue requires immediate attention, transparency, and firm accountability to protect national integrity.

Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar Ishaq Dar chaired the 7th meeting of the National Steering Committee on Fuel Subsidy. The Committee reviewed the rollout of fuel subsidy for motorcyclists, small farmers, public transport & goods transport in all provinces , GB & AJK. The Committee noted that global fuel prices have declined sharply, the benefit of which has already been passed on to the consumers, and agreed to discontinue the subsidy with the approval of the Prime Minister. DPM/FM appreciated the work of the committee marked by sustained interprovincial coordination and directed to document lessons learnt from this excercise, address gaps in data and delivery to strengthen future intiatives with a view to improve public service delivery. The meeting was attended by SAPM Tariq Bajwa, federal secretaries of Petroleum and IT, Governor SBP, and senior representatives from all provinces, GB & AJK.
