Tesla said Thursday it is recalling nearly all Cyber "trucks" in the United States to fix an exterior panel that could detach while driving, the latest in a series of call-backs for the "truck". FSD Supervised in Europe: First video of our experiences yesterday when driving with a Tesla that used FSD Supervised. Driving in Tilburg, The Netherlands. In this video you see that the Tesla takes a left turn into a narrow street. Very typical streetsize in The Netherlands and many other European countries. There’s a delivery truck standing on the road in a not so convenient way. I am extremely impressed that the Tesla decided to pass it but also how it did it. In these specific situations you so feel that the car looks all around (360 view) all the time and drives based on all that input. So Runway Gen 4.5 finally adds image-to-video, the workflow most pros rely on for consistency. We put it head to head with Kling AI and Flow by Google VEO using the same reference images and prompts (below) to evaluate motion quality, stability, and cinematic realism. 1. Action/WaterPhysics Test Prompt: Cinematic, wide-shot of a man running in a shallow river. The camera is tracking the man from behind as he runs up the river. Handheld camera shake as the camera follows the man. 2. Fire Physics Test Prompt: Cinematic, wide-shot of terrified woman running towards her burning barn. She abruptly stops, and puts in hands on her head as she watches her barn burn down. 3. VFX test prompt: Cinematic, wide-shot of a hooded figure. Flashes of purple magic and smoke whirl around the figure. This is how a CEO loses credibility with me. Cofounder of NuroAI A is making an AI that can drive vehicles, was winning me over through demonstrations of his more flexible AI than Tesla has demonstrated. Drove in left-hand Japan with no prior training on such. Learned by decomposing the road into all of its parts. So figured out that you needed to drive in the left instantly. But then he said LiDAR is demonstrating itself to be safer. So I stuck up my hand and asked for a situation where LiDAR and camera is safer than camera only approaches, which his company sells too. “A child all in black at night, particularly around a corner.” So tonight after I drove my friend home at 2:30 a.m. I studied this in deep detail in my wife’s Model Y with hardware 4 and Tesla Self Driving controlling the car. 1. Cameras can see far more than humans can at night. 2. Modern cars come with matrix headlights. Which go around the turn and illuminate anywhere a car can turn. 3. Every intersection has a light on almost every intersection. Where there is none why would a child in black be playing on the street in the dark. 4. Tesla has a “zoomed in” telephoto camera as one of the cameras under the windshield so it can actually see ahead far better than a human can. Plus the other night this car drove around a clump of dirt and rocks on the road at 50 mph. I didn’t even see it until the car had already quickly turned around it. I give you his speech here. But you gotta come up with better examples of why a car company needs to spend “low thousands” (his quote, not mine) per car more on LiDARs than that.

I’ve been spending a lot of time with the Cybertruck over the last couple of weeks. I can confidently say this is the best Tesla ever made. FSD has a lot to do with it. It feels like an autonomous land yacht that can take on anything. The way this truck drives, soaks up bumps, offers tons of room for humans and cargo, and drives itself is hard to wrap my head around. I haven’t driven the truck manually for more than a mile since I’ve had it. A pickup truck that drives itself pretty much flawlessly should not exist so soon in my lifetime, but it does. Crazy.

Yesterday I went on a few Tesla Robotaxi rides with Kamano ShnederEtienne who was in Austin as part of a cross-country road trip from Orlando, FL to California in his Cybertruck Kamano is really into technology and wanted to experience how well the robotaxi service works and along the way, he got to see many interesting edge cases during his rides, including a random tire rolling out from behind a delivery truck onto the road right in front of us from a tire shop! 😳 Throughout all drives, the autonomously driven Tesla handled every edge case, normal traffic, pedestrians, and road construction extremely well and confidently! FSD spotted a car parked halfway on the road. The car checked the blind spot just like a human driver, waited for a safe gap, and maneuvered around it smoothly.
