*For correction* Petrol ≈ 0.74 g/cm³, Ethanol ≈ 0.79 g/cm³, Water ≈ 1.00 g/cm³. During phase separation, ethanol doesn’t settle alone—it bonds with water, forming a denser ethanol-water layer that sinks, while ethanol-depleted petrol floats on top.

the claim of reduction of mileage by 5% is based on E10, not based on 20% with standard testing/lab mixing of EtOH & Petrol, this is will not reflect in the ground reality the quality of ethanol is very important, during the commercial production from the fermentation process,

Well not with a normal water finding paste but with dedicated ethanol paste

Science behind phase separation: Water + Ethanol = one heavier layer. Petrol doesn’t mix with water, so it floats. Result: Bottom = ethanol-water mixture. Top = ethanol-depleted petrol. Densities: Petrol ~0.74, Ethanol ~0.79, Water ~1.00 g/cm³.

Also important to tell people, this would reduce the octane levels in the petrol. Seen lots of posts from people suggesting this method to separate the petrol and putting it in their vehicles.
