Scientists used 200,000 human brain cells to play DOOM. The cells had never seen a computer. They learned in real time. They got better. Separately: an entire fruit fly brain, 139,000 neurons, 50 million connections, was copied into a laptop. It predicts real brain responses with 90%+ accuracy. The biological computing timeline: 2021 → neurons learn Pong 2022 → fruit fly brain fully mapped 2024 → entire fly brain simulated on a laptop 2026 → human brain cells play DOOM A GPU needs ~700W to run an LLM. The brain runs the whole show on 20W. We're spending trillions on building the next giant AI training computer but what if the solution to our energy needs was just copying the technology already running in our heads?

There's a fruit fly walking around right now that was never born. eon just released a video where they took a real fly's connectome — the wiring diagram of its brain — and simulated it. Dropped it into a virtual body. It started walking. Grooming. Feeding. Doing what flies do. Nobody taught it to walk. No training data, no gradient descent toward fly-like behavior. This is the opposite of how AI works. They rebuilt the mind from the inside, neuron by neuron, and behavior just... emerged. It's the first time a biological organism has been recreated not by modeling what it does, but by modeling what it is. A human brain is 6 OOM more neurons. That's a scaling problem, something we've gotten very good at solving. So what happens when we have a working copy of the human mind?

ehm, chat... this is big they put a BCI in a rat’s brain, modeled its movements, and predicted the neural activity across behaviors with stunning accuracy, basically merging biomechanics with ai so now we could do the same with a human (Noland Arbaugh , could you help us out since you already have the neuralink?), put the modeled human in a virtual environment, load an llm, have it embodied, speed the simulation up, and get to agi.
