Sebaashray is advancing across Diamond Harbour as a SINGLE, COORDINATED MISSION of care. Mega Camps are being conducted simultaneously in all seven Assembly Constituencies, ensuring that healthcare access remains ORGANISED, SEAMLESS, and DIGNIFIED for every individual. This integrated model has enabled services to move with the people, delivering timely... assessment, clear guidance, and structured follow-up without delay or uncertainty. The focus has not merely been on reaching patients, but on standing by them through every stage of treatment, ensuring CONTINUITY, COMPASSION, and ACCOUNTABILITY. The trust that people place in Sebaashray is both humbling and reaffirming. It strengthens our resolve to uphold this HEALTHCARE MODEL that is RELIABLE, PEOPLE-CENTRIC, and rooted in dignity; where no one is left to walk alone.show more

Instead of making people undertake exhausting journeys for basic treatment, #Sebaashray2 quietly alters the direction of care, it goes to the people, bringing practical solutions through camps held across almost every neighbourhood, ensuring that no one is left at the margins of access. As Day 13 of Sebaashray 2 unfolds and the programme nears its conclusion in Metiaburuz, its impact is impossible to miss. Across the camps, a wide range of services are being provided, careful medical consultations, free medicines, vision and hearing support, and essential assistive care, all delivered in one place, without barriers or delays. What distinguishes Sebaashray, however, is not merely the breadth of services rendered, but the dignity with which they are delivered.

Sebaashray represents a solemn and unflinching commitment to the health, dignity, and well-being of every resident of Diamond Harbour. In Satgachia, we have had the privilege of providing free spectacles to 2,248 individuals, restoring not merely their vision but also their confidence, independence, and hope for the future. Eyes are far more than instruments of sight, they are windows to opportunity, clarity, and a brighter tomorrow. Through this initiative, we empower our people to embrace life with renewed optimism and self-respect. Sebaashray remains steadfast in its mission to deliver accessible, compassionate, and meaningful healthcare to every citizen in need, ensuring that no one is left behind.

I consider it a profound privilege that the people of Diamond Harbour have entrusted Sebaashray with something as precious as their health. The first edition set new benchmarks in last-mile healthcare delivery, and Sebaashray 2 has carried that legacy forward with remarkable success. As we conclude the normal camps, I am filled with deep gratitude and fulfilment, having witnessed the overwhelming warmth, trust, and participation of our people. I salute every doctor, nurse, pharmacist, diagnostician, and volunteer whose dedication made this initiative possible. From 24th to 28th January, Mega Camps will be held simultaneously across all seven Assembly Constituencies of Diamond Harbour to further expand access and ensure continuity of care. I remain, always, a humble servant of the people who have blessed me with their trust and affection, and in every endeavour, their welfare will remain my foremost priority.

Sebaashray destabilises an injustice normalised over decades: the belief that quality healthcare is a luxury reserved for the well-off. On Day 23 of Sebaashray 2, this conviction continues to take concrete shape on the ground. What began as a commitment has evolved into a sustained public health effort, one that places people, not privilege, at the centre of care. Across Bishnupur, #Sebaashray 2 is delivering advanced diagnostics, medical consultations, essential medicines, and structured referral support, entirely free of cost and without barriers. The steady participation we witness each day is not incidental; it reflects a growing trust in a system that chooses presence over distance and responsibility over rhetoric. For me, this initiative represents a clear moral choice. When healthcare is made available at the doorstep, hesitation gives way to confidence, and delay gives way to early treatment. Sebaashray 2 is a continuation of that commitment: to stand with people before illness becomes crisis, and to ensure that compassion is not incidental, but institutional.

Public service, to me, has always meant fairness, empathy, and being present for people without prejudice or distinction. Guided by this belief, Sebaashray continues to serve the residents of Diamond Harbour with a singular focus on accessible healthcare and human dignity. Today, I visited the Sebaashray-2 health camp at the Harindanga BDO Office ground in Falta, where I interacted with patients, listened carefully to their concerns, and tried to understand their challenges at a personal level. I reassured them of my continued support and of our commitment to ensuring that healthcare reaches those who need it the most. I am grateful to every doctor, health worker, volunteer, and official who has come together in this collective effort. The warmth, trust, and affection shown by the people of Falta today have truly moved me and strengthened my resolve to walk alongside them, every step of the way.

"There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” — C.S. Lewis As this chapter of Sebaashray comes to an end, those words feel especially true. Across Diamond Harbour, the camps moved forward as one coordinated effort, guided by a simple responsibility, to ensure that people could access healthcare without confusion, without pressure, and without being made to feel small. From consultations and diagnostics to medicines and referrals, the work remained focused on continuity, so that once someone stepped in for care, they were not left to fend for themselves. Yesterday in Metiaburuz, I spent time with families who came carrying worries they had lived with for far too long. I listened to their concerns, met the doctors and teams on the ground, and saw first-hand how much reassurance timely, respectful care can bring. What stood out was the dignity with which people were able to seek help, without fear of cost, delay, or uncertainty. The trust and affection shown by the people throughout these days have been deeply humbling. But this moment is not a full stop. It is a reminder of what responsible governance must continue to look like. Sebaashray may pause here, but the commitment it represents will carry forward, in every space where care is needed and dignity must be protected. As long as people place their faith in us, our responsibility to stand beside them does not end, it only deepens.

The guiding principle behind Sebaashray has been unambiguous: care must be timely, humane, and accessible to all, without exception. Healthcare cannot be a privilege determined by distance, delay, or circumstance, it must reach people when they need it most. What we witnessed at Budge Budge on Day 18 of #Sebaashray2 was the outcome of a system consciously designed to recognise urgency early and respond without hesitation. Sebaashray is built to act before vulnerability turns into crisis, and before delay compounds suffering. Day after day, Sebaashray is demonstrating that governance need not be reactive, it can be anticipatory, responsive, and reliable. Its strength lies not in a single moment of care, but in the consistency with which that care is delivered, across communities and circumstances. When people know that help will arrive, not as charity, but as a right, it restores more than health. It restores confidence in institutions, and dignity in public service. That certainty is the real measure of Sebaashray’s impact, and it is the standard we remain committed to uphold.

South Kolkata is my 𝘫𝘢𝘯𝘮𝘢𝘣𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘮𝘪, but Diamond Harbour is my 𝘬𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘣𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘮𝘪. I consider myself truly fortunate to have the people of Diamond Harbour as my extended family. I often wonder what good deeds in my past life have granted me the opportunity to serve the mothers, brothers, and sisters of this Parliamentary Constituency, and work for their well-being. It’s humbling to witness the overwhelming support #Sebaashray has received in just a few days. Yesterday in Falta AC: 👉 14,120 INDIVIDUALS benefitted from 40 HEALTH CAMPS. 👉 14,941 PATIENTS received free medicines. 👉 12,945 underwent DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. 👉 15 CRITICAL PATIENTS were referred to specialty hospitals for advanced care. Sebaashray is REVOLUTIONISING the delivery of healthcare services, bringing professional care to the DOORSTEPS of those who need it the most. This is a PARADIGM SHIFT in ensuring that HEALTHCARE REACHES EVERY HOME.

Some public welfare initiatives do more than serve the present, they shape the future by setting enduring standards of compassionate care. #Sebaashray is one such landmark effort, redefining the meaning of accessible and people-centric healthcare. 1,725 residents of Bishnupur received free spectacles through Sebaashray 2.0, restoring not just vision, but dignity, confidence, and quality of life. This is service rooted in empathy, delivered with purpose, and guided by the belief that healthcare must reach every citizen, without barriers or burden.

More than a programme, Sebaashray-2 is a statement of principle about how care should be delivered and how it should never be denied. It rejects the comfort of postponement, because in healthcare, delay is injustice to those who cannot afford to wait. It rejects the impulse to judge illness, recognising that suffering is a human condition to be met with care and respect. It rejects leaving treatment to uncertainty, fortune, or the overstretched resilience of families who already shoulder profound emotional and financial burdens. And most importantly, it rejects the notion that vulnerability must bargain for dignity, or that a person in pain must plead, demonstrate, or validate their despair to receive compassion. Now, as Sebaashray-2 enters its 32nd day in Satghachia, its greatest message is consistency; service that does not appear and disappear, but service that stays. This is resolve. This is presence. This is trust built through continuity. #Sebaashray2 continues, rooted in people, purpose, and responsibility.

অসুস্থতা আর নয়, আবারও নিশ্চিত করছে সেবাশ্রয়! Illness often arrives without warning, yet its consequences are far-reaching. It disrupts livelihoods, places strain on families, and frequently forces difficult choices between medical care and everyday survival. For many, the challenge lies not only in the illness itself, but in the distance, cost, and uncertainty involved in accessing timely treatment. Day 28 marked the conclusion of Sebaashray 2’s engagement in Bishnupur. Throughout its presence, the initiative addressed these barriers by bringing essential healthcare services directly to the community, ensuring that access to treatment did not become an additional burden. Through medical consultations, free medicines, and timely referrals, Sebaashray reflects a core principle of governance: public systems must reduce suffering, not compound it. As Sebaashray 2 now moves onward to Satgachia, it continues with a clear commitment to support communities in times of illness and to ensure that no individual is left to navigate healthcare challenges alone.

Sebaashray was never designed to be an electoral gimmick. It is anchored in a principle far removed from political arithmetic, in the sincere belief that healthcare is a right, not a privilege, and that every resident of Diamond Harbour deserves medical support that is accessible, affordable, and equitable. Thirty days into Sebaashray-2, now in Satgachia on its second day, the initiative has once again demonstrated that public service earns trust through persistence. I feel privileged that people have entrusted us with something as invaluable as their health. Sebaashray has redefined the standards of last-mile healthcare delivery. It has proven that care must reach the doorstep to be meaningful. We will not let that standard slip. We will defend it, sustain it, and strengthen it.

In Nandigram, Sebaashray has become a powerful affirmation of what compassionate governance looks like in action. Through our model camps across two blocks, 22 citizens who had been living in darkness due to cataracts were referred for surgery at Kalyani Eye Hospital in Nimtouri and have now regained their sight. Watching them return home with renewed confidence and independence is a reminder that public service, at its best, is measured in restored lives. Health must never be a privilege, and dignity must never be conditional. Sebaashray stands for both. This is what a healthy society looks like, where care reaches people before suffering becomes fate. With your trust and blessings, Sebaashray will continue to expand this mission of compassion, equity, and accessible healthcare for all.

Nothing weighs heavier on my conscience than watching people endure suffering in silence, and nothing restores my faith more than seeing that suffering recede when care finally reaches them. It is this promise of relief and dignity that Sebaashray 2 seeks to sustain. On Day 27 of Sebaashray 2 in Bishnupur, I personally inspected every aspect of the health camp, ensuring that services were accessible, facilities responsive, and dignity upheld at every step. From the elderly seeking reassurance, to young adults navigating uncertainty, to children arriving with quiet curiosity, each interaction was a reminder that healthcare is not merely a service, but a lifeline. Listening to them reaffirmed my belief that policy must always be shaped by lived realities.

সেবার আলোয় আলোকিত হোক সুস্বাস্থ্যের পথ। Across every #Sebaashray2 camp, one principle is reaffirmed consistently. That governance must be judged by its ability to respond to need, promptly, fairly, and without barriers. Whether it is a routine medical concern or a critical emergency, the measure of the state lies in its readiness to act. Day 19 reflected this commitment in full measure. Each case represented not an isolated intervention, but a system functioning as intended - timely, coordinated, and dependable. Sebaashray exists to narrow the distance between citizens and care, ensuring that access to healthcare is not shaped by geography, income, or circumstance. It is anchored in a clear conviction that healthcare is not an act of benevolence, but a constitutional responsibility. When the state acts with efficiency and empathy, governance fulfills its highest purpose of standing quietly yet firmly on the side of its people.

A small act of kindness can travel a long way in transforming lives. When the people of Nandigram reached out to me to organise Sebaashray health camps, I resolved on the very first day to act. On 15th January, I personally visited Nandigram and launched this initiative, and what followed has been a deeply life-affirming journey. True public service is that which transcends barriers, sets aside political calculations, and devotes itself wholly to those in need. That is the true strength of Sebaashray. It has restored hope and dignity to people who had long felt neglected and unheard. Here, their voices were acknowledged, their concerns addressed, and their needs met with compassion and care. The love and blessings showered by the people of Nandigram will remain inscribed in my heart in golden letters. I salute every doctor, nurse, healthcare worker, and volunteer who selflessly shouldered this responsibility and took quality healthcare to people’s doorsteps. As long as the people of Nandigram remain in need, Sebaashray will return to serve them. That is my promise.
