That would actually drive women out of the workforce. Employers can barely afford the staff they have with the increased taxation. Why would you take on staff who will work 7 weeks less than anyone else? It’s stupid. I wouldn’t hire myself on that basis. 🤷‍♀️

In my working life I never took a day off. But there are some women who truly struggle through this time and they should get the support. But it would be open to rorting and employer-employee trust would be compromised. It's up to each Employer to handle the situation on an individual basis.

Tell employers that women of fertile age are entitled to an extra 7 weeks a year of paid time off (based on a 5 day week) compared with men of the same age or older women. What could possibly go wrong?

Im sorry I know menstruation is hard but it does not stop people working. Most people only work about 225 days a year. To just give one half of the workforce an extra 36 days off is frankly ridiculous. It will simply end up in people avoiding employing women.

A construction site should not be sitting empty because workers are afraid to show up. Families in South Texas need housing, businesses need workers, and our communities need projects like this to move forward. I have long supported strong border security, but enforcement should be targeted at criminals and real threats to public safety. When workers are scared, projects get delayed, costs go up, and local economies feel it. We need smart, targeted enforcement that keeps our communities safe without hurting the workers, families, and businesses that help build South Texas.
