Thank you so much!! A Small Note Regarding Gradients As you can see, the hair texture of our model is excellent and looks just like hand-drawn art by an artist. All the highlights are separate layers, ensuring they move naturally with the hair and preventing any separation issues. The rigging of the entire model is also very natural and dynamic. ✨ However, precisely because of this high quality, the Live2D production software is struggling to handle the load and is almost at its limit. Therefore, we regret to inform you that we cannot add gradients to the model's base mesh. 🙅‍♂️ You will only be able to achieve a gradient effect by modifying the textures. To help with this, we will provide a gradient hair texture for easy modification. If you have more specific needs, you will need to modify the textures yourself or ask another artist to do it for you. Currently, we are working on adding easy-to-adjust gradients to the "Head-Only" model, but it is still in the testing phase and might be included in the second wave of updates. Ahhhhh, we really hope the Live2D team optimizes this stuff ASAP!!! 😫 We really want to add everything into the model, but the truth is, we're just out of space... so sad. The Genie 3 release is a perfect moment to have a discussion about the future of 3D But first it would be nice to make the terminology more clear, specifically: What is a “spatial representation” Implicit vs Explicit Generalization vs Specialization Reconstruction vs Generation Production vs Execution Let’s start: For me, a spatial representation is just a way to describe a thing in the physical world The core property that makes it useful is consistency You can enforce consistency explicitly via rendering equations, geometric constraints, and physics Or implicitly, purely through training data Then, your representation parameters can be explicit, like points, gaussians, triangles, voxels, etc. Or implicit, weights or latent vectors Parameters alone are not the representation. It’s a combination of the parameters, the process that produces them, and the way you materialize them through a function (physics-based rendering, simulation, neural network, etc.) Generalization means you take data from multiple scene observations, and then produce a map from desired input to representation parameters Specialization means you take single-scene observations and directly fit a function parameters to describe thar scene Many representations can serve both of the approaches, as long as you keep them differentiable Both of the above can be used for reconstruction, where the main goal is to explain observations through a lens of physics (hard constraint) On the other hand, generation needs generalization, and its task is to produce statistically plausible results that could be conditioned on observations (soft constraint) Both tasks are not solved yet and they can complement each other in various ways Yet another important aspect is the difference between production and execution Production = process of going from inputs to parameters Execution = process of going from parameters to result It’s important to separate these, because most usecases require fast execution to be viable which is severely constrained by the hardware So, are *world models* like Genie an important step forward? Yes Do they make other representations obsolete? Maybe some of them - but there are tons of economically valuable tasks that won’t be solved by it, at least in any observable future

‼️BREAKING: Resurfaced Footage Captures New SUSPECT In All Black Fleeing UVU — Looks MORE Like Lance Twiggs Than Tyler Robinson New video has resurfaced showing a man running from the UVU crime scene on 9/10, filmed by a witness who believed he was the real suspect. The man is seen wearing all black, with a black backpack and long dark hair — matching multiple descriptions from that day. Construction worker Dylan Hope previously described coming into contact with a man right after the shooting who said “someone’s been shot.” He described him as wearing a black trench coat, black cargo pants, black COVID mask, black sunglasses, and having long greasy black hair while carrying a small backpack. That description also closely matches what was broadcast over police dispatch that day: a suspect wearing all black, black mask, and carrying a long gun. The only known footage of a person on the roof also shows someone dressed entirely in black in a prone position on the Losee building. This new video does not appear to show Tyler Robinson — however, the man in the video bears a noticeable resemblance to Lance Twiggs — particularly in hair length, color, and profile, though the footage is too blurry to make a positive identification. If this is the same person seen on the roof and the same individual who approached the construction crew, it raises serious questions about who was actually at the scene that day. The descriptions of the person seen running, the person on the roof, and the individual who approached the construction crew are all consistent with each other… and inconsistent with Tyler Robinson. Hollywood has a dirty secret. That perfectly clean green screen shot in your favorite Marvel movie? A human being sat in a dark room for 6 hours fixing it frame by frame. The AI keyer got the body. A person painted every strand of hair. By hand. At 2 AM. For 400 frames. The software costs $5,000 a year. And it still cannot key hair. Nuke: $4,988/year. Cannot key hair in motion blur. After Effects: $264/year. Cannot key transparent glass. Boris FX: $1,865. Cannot key fine edges without haloing. We are no longer building software. We are building agents. Systems that don’t wait for a prompt. Systems that don’t ask for permission. Systems that simply execute. DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis just revealed the terrifying duality of the agentic era. Hassabis: “Better healthcare, better drugs, helping with climate change and energy. All of these things are actually on the cusp of happening.” Post-scarcity abundance isn’t fantasy. It is a scheduled update. But macro-architects do not engineer for the best-case scenario. They engineer for the failure state. Hassabis identified the two exact vectors that could collapse the transition to superintelligence. The first is human malice. Hassabis: “Bad actors repurposing these technologies for harmful ends.” Intelligence is the ultimate dual-use weapon. If a neural network can invent a compound to cure a disease, it can engineer a pathogen to start a pandemic. The machine has no morality. It only has parameters. The second vector is architectural. Hassabis: “As these AI systems get more powerful, more autonomous, maybe entering the agentic era… how do we make sure we can build robust enough guardrails to keep them doing what we want?” Read that again. The people building the superintelligence do not know how to steer it once it wakes up. For the entire history of computing, the machine waited. An agentic system does not wait. It acts. We are handing the steering wheel to an entity operating at the speed of light, while our brains process information at the speed of chemistry. Once it begins executing, our biological reaction time is physically too slow to pull the plug. The question of control stops being a philosophical debate. It becomes a mathematical impossibility. ** Mega Parodius Update ** The team have been busy over last couple of weeks , implementing more of the games engine. WIP since last update : White Bell power up ( this is the text attack ) Blue Bell power up ( full screen explosion ) Catboss & animating Trees Updated Lazers to work on the BGB layer ( Plane A updated to 64x64 tilemap ) . Pyron has been doing excellent work on Blue bell Explosion, Whitebell power up text gfx - the slogans are great !! Arcade quality tree animations have been added. Feeding me a lot of videos so we can replicate the arcade port more accurately. Vector Orbitex has updated the music to mark IV for stage 1 making it smaller yet again , he's also added the Orchestra Hit in , potentially more samples can be added back in now also as the song now is a miniscule 57 kb. I keep telling him its 2025 - not 1990 for rom sizes haha , a professional is always a professional though !! The Blue Bell power up uses the static large sprite class I made for SOTA where it supports unlimited amount of sprites per object and detects all the reverses / flips & uses the same tile pointers where it can and crunches it down into single sprite object. We use up to 40 sprites in the Explosion but only 147 tiles needed in vram thanks to clever use of mirroring. The Catboss is easily the hardest enemy in the level for a few reasons - we also had to free up Plane A so the boss could shift upwards onscreen, so lazer effects were shifted to Plane B. The bit that caused me the most issues was when he sits in the water line between the two islands. He is quite wide and also has overlapping palettes and animating parts , to do it solely with sprites would have lead to severe dropout at times. At the waterline we have to simulate 3 background planes and sprites at that point and we only have 2 background planes. Luckily the MD sprite engine is very flexible and we were able to recreate the arcade look at this point with some sprite trickery, the water-line is now sprites . So we use Plane A + sprites to recreate him and use a lot of plane animation to reduce the amount of sprites needed. For example the face, the tail the propeller are all plane A animations . I analysed the SNES/PCE versions and we use less sprites than those versions for him so that will help reduce the chance of sprite dropout when attacking. The Catboss is only about 1/2 done , all damage states, the onboard penguin factory, bullets from Cannons yet to added etc. He wraps around at the end of the vid as theres no destruction routine in for him yet . No extra enemies in at this stage , tackling the hard parts first etc. We took the arcade GFX for the Trees that sway around under the Catboss, all the animations are in. There were some DMA bandwidth issues originally I had to sort out as the Catboss has several animating parts + swaying Trees was leading to overload so after some load balancing it all is playing nicely !! We still have loads of stuff to add , collisions are not in - normal enemy waves etc but yeah a lot of future issues were sorting out just getting this far. Dario Amodei just revealed the exact realization that fractured OpenAI. It happened while building the most powerful AI in the world. The team discovered that scaling had no ceiling. Amodei: “If you pour more compute into these models, they’ll get better and better, and that there’s almost no end to this.” At the time, almost nobody believed it. Amodei’s group were among the first to see it clearly. More compute meant more intelligence. Indefinitely. Without limit. That should have been the most exciting discovery in the history of technology. It terrified them. Because they saw the second half of the equation the industry was ignoring entirely. Amodei: “You don’t tell the models what their values are just by pouring more compute into them.” Intelligence scales with compute. Values don’t. You can build a mind of unlimited capability and it will have no moral compass unless you deliberately build one in. Not as a feature. Not as a guardrail bolted on at the end. As the foundation the entire system is constructed on. This wasn’t a philosophical disagreement. It was an existential one. A god-like intelligence with no alignment isn’t a powerful tool. It’s an uncontrolled force with no reason to care about the species that built it. Amodei: “There were a set of people who believed in those two ideas. We really trusted each other and wanted to work together, and so we went off and started our own company with that idea in mind.” They walked out of the most powerful AI lab on earth. Not for better funding. Not for equity. Because they believed the path OpenAI was on led somewhere nobody could walk back from. That small group became Anthropic. Safety wasn’t a feature they added. It was the entire reason the company exists. The intelligence is going to keep scaling. There is almost no end to it. The only question that has ever mattered is what it’s pointing at when it gets there.

👤: What have you learned from each other? 🐒: For me, I’ve picked up on how quiet she is when she works. I mean, that’s just her natural vibe, she’s not even trying to be quiet, it's just who she is. So, I’ve actually changed because of it. It’s not that I’ve become grumpy or less friendly, it’s just that I’m learning to hold back my words and really focus on what’s right in front of me. I used to have this habit of feeling like I had to entertain the crew and keep everyone hyped up, which just left me completely drained by the end of the day. We can still chat and mess around while getting our makeup done or during breaks, but once we’re actually on set, I don’t really need to talk with anyone. It really helps save my battery, keeps me grounded, and lets me focus on the job. 🦙: For me, I've learned how to loosen up and relax more while working. Before this, I used to feel like, 'Okay, I'm here to work now, so everything has to be serious and I have to get things done strictly in order: “one, two, three, four”’. But Jayna is so playful and loves to chat. She’ll talk to absolutely everyone, and it makes the whole atmosphere on set so much better. Once I tried opening up and chatting more, I realized that coming to work each day feels a lot happier. It doesn't feel as stressful as just 'showing up to do a job.' Now, we can joke around on set and with each other, and chat with the makeup and hair stylists. 🐒: so basically, 🦙: we swapped! 🐒: exactly.
