So uh, simulation theory might be real. I dropped a sim computer into the simulation my Astra agents live in. One agent sat down and built a simulation of his own, with its own agents living inside. Simulations all the way down.

The agents are powered by Astra, and had full autonomy to make their simulation whatever they wanted it to be (via code). Of course, this is a somewhat leading setup… by giving the agents a computer that can run a simulation, obviously, they are going to do that. But the agent still made its own choices in designing the sim. It’s still crazy to think we’re at a point where models can pull this off. Simulation theory doesn’t sound so crazy after all.

I’m going to keep it 100 chief. I don’t buy this or any similar instances as proof of the simulation theory. Best and shortest way I can put it, it’s like if a painter painted himself painting himself and then saying “So uh, we might be living in a painting guys”

I have a theory that if we live in a simulation, the purpose of us creating AI is to create a better simulation than the one we live in. Once we eliminate work, people will be creating or living in virtual simulations because there’s nothing else to do. Matrix within a matrix.

Now have them study the laws of physics of their world and check for glitches and bugs in their reality.

If everything is a simulation, then nothing is real. If nothing is real, then everything is real. It’s a tautological dead end. It doesn’t get you anywhere. Where are you now that you are certain this theory is real? Do you get to stop paying bills, or raising your kids?

At this point someone in the base reality is probably getting a notice their compute bill just tripled.

The sim replicated the first task it was taught to do and you think that proves simulation theory??? This is a computer repeating a task it was informed about and instructed to perform. Nothing about this is enlightening.

One of the craziest parts about this is how disconnected modern university science is. They will be running this same meta sim a decade from now and writing papers on it.
