Pretty tree! Does this hardware lumen still use VSMs? I just wonder which fps it would be if it was animated. VSM is pretty bad with that, unless they improved that too in ue5.6

this is using VSM yeh, but if you do want it moving you could just enable megalights on directional lights

And that will work with the hardware stuff too? I can't really try it myself, my gpu is so old :)))

Yep

Now scatter a few thousand with pcg and check Nanite overdraw

I did!

It feels like mining bitcoin tbh...

the future is bright

Are you using 4K monitor? You said you got 95 FPS in 4090 with Hardware Lumen, I guess engine scability is Cinematic, not Epic preset, right?

How do you get that high fps with that much polys?

mesh tracing? is it some switch in 5.6 or? i thought megalights covered this, no?

As in lumen tracing the full nanite mesh, r.raytracing.nanite.mode 1

This is not using megalights

Its super simple, no textures atm

Oh, thanks Maybe my leaf texture is too dark.

wow

What's the source of the tree model? Would be interesting to use it in RTX Remix projects

I whipped it up using the Houdini Tree tools in about 30 mins

We are entering a world of real-time path tracing. It’s coming
