In November 2024, the Supreme Court ruled that accessibility is a fundamental right, directing businesses to ensure their digital platforms are accessible to people with disabilities. The Court essentially said that in a digital-first world, denying digital access means denying basic rights. It's not just about compliance, it's about constitutional equality. Accessibility has been core to how we build at . The mandate didn't change our approach, it just gave us a deadline. And since we don't have to rebuild for accessibility from scratch, we are confident to be able to make the deadline. 🙂 Here's one of our users with severe visual impairment using Kite.

A world where everyone can enjoy music 🎶 Sony Group is developing “Yuru instruments” that allow anyone to enjoy music, regardless of age or disability. The Hug Drum and Handle Drum use light and vibrations to let you feel the beat you play, and the Ultra Light Sax lets you make music just by humming. To highlight this initiative, The Yuru Street Live event was ​​​​held at Ginza Sony Park in collaboration with the rock band Salsa Gumtape. My Canadian House of Commons motion on disability inclusive education comes to a final vote this Wednesday. Please watch my five-minute speech to close out the debate. If my words resonate with you, please share the post, along with your comments. On the outcomes of getting inclusive education right, here's just some of what I had to say: "These potential outcomes are not limited to vast improvements in the lives of people with disabilities. Because as we work to build and support systems, domestically and internationally, that reach the most vulnerable people in the world, we will reach everyone else along the way. When we wire our hearts to include girls with disabilities, including intellectual and developmental disabilities, in education systems in the most challenging contexts of the world, we will reach every girl in the world. When we wire our hearts to include boys with disabilities, including intellectual and developmental disabilities, in education systems in refugee camps and war zones, we will better reach all kids in refugee camps and war zones and, of course, every less challenging environment in the world. Most importantly, when we include people with disabilities in all aspects of our societies - when we work to mitigate the challenges they face, and unlock the skills and abilities that they have, just like we do with everyone else, our societies will benefit from an immense potential, previously unrecognized."
