Ok, I did not know that the Space Shuttle Columbia used modified Lockheed SR-71 ejection seats for the commander and pilot in its early Approach/Landing Tests and STS-1 to STS-4. They were removed later as they couldn't fit bigger crews and proved useless during most of ascent👀

45 years ago... April 14, 1981...spacecraft with no engines glided down and touched down like a giant paper airplane on a dry lakebed in California. Space Shuttle Columbia on STS-1, the very first Shuttle mission, coming in hot over Rogers Dry Lake at Edwards Air Force Base. You see the chase planes, the perfect unpowered approach, wheels kissing Runway 23, and that massive dust cloud as it rolls out. Then the crew... John Young and Robert Crippen... stepping out after 54 hours and 36 orbits in space. This wasn’t just another rocket flight. Columbia proved the Shuttle could launch like a rocket, orbit like a spacecraft, and land like an airplane. Reusable hardware, real test pilots at the controls… it changed everything.The beginning of the Shuttle era in all its glory.

The KC-130F no-hook landing on an aircraft carrier was a historic aviation feat. On October 30, 1963, a U.S. Marine Corps KC-130F Hercules made full stop landings and takeoffs on the deck of the USS Forrestal (CV-59) without using arrestor hooks or catapults. Key Facts - Aircraft: Lockheed KC-130F Hercules (tanker version of the C-130) - Pilot: Marine Corps Lieutenant James H. I want to believe, but there's too much evidence that not only tells me but shows me that they lied. I feel like low Earth orbit is as far as we can go... 1. The van Allen radiation belt. 2. The disgusted, unexciting, ashamed post moon landing conference with the three astronauts. Their body language, mannerisms, and answers scream that they're lying. 3. The lack of noise of the jet engines in the "videos." 4. How did they get the lunar rover on the spaceship? 5. No craters or dust underneath the spaceship. 6. How did the film the spaceship take off perfectly if nobody was left on the moon to operate the camera, and how was it so perfect if there was a delay? 7. The rockets and the spaceship look like a model. 8. The video of them saying that they are 130,000 miles away from Earth when all they really did was cover up the windows when they are in low earth orbit and film a small portion of Earth from low Earth orbit to simulate that they were far away, but then you find out that they're only in low Earth orbit when they uncover the windows. (Shown in the video below) 9. How we have to redesign the space suits to be able to handle the atmosphere on the moon. 10. The lack of talk and missions to the moon ever since. 11. The numerous blacked out photos from NASA. 12. How an older smartphone has way more technology than the entire spaceship back in 1969, and how we were able to even communicate with them in the spaceship as the one astronaut who passed away before the moon launch specified that they had trouble communicating between buildings and the shuttle on the ground. 13. Not one single astronaut would put their hand on the Bible and say they went to the moon. Why? 14. All the CGI and bubbles caught on NASA videos. 15. All the green screen captures and astronauts on wires in the "shuttle" and on the "ISS." There are so many bloopers and outtakes of astronauts and shuttle hatches malfunctioning, people appearing in the background of videos of the shuttle, people fading in and out, I could go on forever... How would you convince me against the evidence or prove me wrong from the arguments that I have provided?

37 years ago, the world’s largest aircraft, the An-225 Mriya, took to the skies for the very first time. That historic flight lasted over an hour and set the stage for the aircraft to eventually achieve a total of 240 world records. The maiden flight took off from the Kyiv-Antonov-1 airfield, manned by a crew of test pilots, and concluded with a successful landing in Hostomel. Notably, the name Mriya ("Dream") was painted onto the fuselage only the night before it was rolled out of the hangar. Originally built for the Soviet space program, the An-225 was designed to transport the Buran space shuttle and components of the Energia rocket system. Following the collapse of the USSR, it became the property of Ukraine. Though it was mothballed for a period, it was later restored and modified for heavy-lift commercial cargo. In the opening days of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the Mriya was destroyed during the attack on Hostomel. However, Ukraine plans to bring the "Dream" back to life. Serving as an aerial gunner aboard a TBF Avenger torpedo bomber on the aircraft carrier USS Essex, he took part in numerous Pacific operations, including the Philippines, Iwo Jima, Leyte, and others. On November 5, 1944, during a mission over Manila Bay, his aircraft was struck by enemy anti-aircraft fire. Loyce, just 23 years old, was killed instantly. Footage shows sailors taking his fingerprints and retrieving his dog tag - yet they never remove him from his seat. Why? The answer is both simple and profoundly moving. The aircraft, too severely damaged to be repaired, was scheduled to be committed to the sea. In an extraordinarily rare tribute for the time, especially during an era when every airplane was precious, Loyce Deen was laid to rest still strapped in the cockpit of the plane he flew. The crew gathered on deck to bid him farewell, honoring both the man and the machine that carried him through battle.

Some doubted it should exist at all. But it did. And it changed everything. The Boeing Airplanes 747 shrank the world. It made long-haul travel routine, affordable, and democratic. It moved people, cultures, aid, commerce, presidents, astronauts, and ideas, often all at once. Bill Gates later called it the first world-wide web, for the way it interconnected our world. 1,574 were built. As per Joe Sutter’s engineering vision, each one over-engineered. Each one designed with a belief that scale could be elegant. And despite newer technology and quieter engines, many will still be flying well into the 2050s, hauling cargo, supporting science, and proving that good design outlasts fashion. For me, the affection is personal. The 747 isn’t just an aeroplane, it’s a presence. The way it sits on the ramp. The way it absorbs weather. The way it carries speed without drama and weight without complaint. Flying it never felt like operating a machine; it felt like working with one. A weird symbiotic relationship, that I’m unable to explain. There are aircraft that are clever. There are aircraft that are efficient. And then there is the 747.
