AI 3D workflows for web are getting scary good. Here is a demo with a large splat background (+LoD), mesh character, spatial audio, VR support, and lighting. I was able to create it in a few hours (repo in reply). built with Three.js spark World Labs Audio on :)

SuperSplat's voxel collision is a game changer for 3D Gaussian splat creators. Generate a highly accurate, inescapable voxel representation of any splat, regardless of quality. Generation is performed on the GPU, so it's super-fast. The voxel representation is tiny - only 418KB for this scene. And all this magic is free and open source, courtesy of the splat-transform library from PlayCanvas.

Big news I found a way to convert Gaussian Splatting into a standard mesh while preserving all the visual advantages of Gaussian Splatting, such as reflections, shadows, and lighting that changes depending on the viewing angle. The result is excellent performance, even on an old laptop or a VR headset. And of course, the mesh can be animated like any regular 3D mesh, while still keeping the visual benefits of GS. I’ll soon show a full-body character animated using this technique.

I'm excited to share the Geo Register Plugin for LichtFeld Studio from the LichtFeld community! This plugin helps bring Gaussian splat scenes into real-world geographic space. It registers a scene to WGS-84 and ECEF coordinates, so you can click any point on the model and get its latitude, longitude and altitude. It supports multiple georeferencing sources, including EXIF GPS data, image position CSVs, RealityScan camera parameters and saved similarity transforms. Once the scene is registered, you can export geo-referenced splat models as LAS, LAZ or 3D Tiles datasets for use in GIS and 3D mapping workflows. Built for anyone working with drone data, photogrammetry, Gaussian splatting, GIS, ArcGIS or CesiumJS. Link in the comment below!

From 2D video to a very rough 4D Gaussian Splatting POC on the Apple Vision Pro 👀 Took Big Buck Bunny frames, turned them into Gaussian splats with Sharp (Apple), compressed them with PlayCanvas splat transform to SOG, and played all frames via WebXR + spark Still rough and not fully optimized, but wow, dynamic GS in AVP feels wild 🤯 Second part of the video is on my laptop #threejs

Instant Skinned Gaussian Avatars for Web, Mobile and VR Applications Short summary: In our system, we animate a background 3D mesh and have the Gaussian splats follow the mesh’s vertices. During preprocessing, splats are assigned to mesh vertices, and their relative transformations are stored. Once this data is saved, you can instantly use it in your applications without further preprocessing. At runtime, we animate the background 3D mesh, update the Gaussian splats in parallel, and resort all Gaussian splats every frame based on the viewer’s perspective.
