LodgeNet N64 and GameCube controllers working on real Super Nintendo!! Straight wire! 🤯 Ends up that the recently dumped, mysterious SNES dev cart rom with a GameCube controller displayed on screen, is indeed a controller tester rom used to test LodgeNet controllers. I decompiled the rom and discovered that it was bit banging a custom controller protocol over the normal controller’s data and latch pins.

Diddy Kong Racing, running as a native iOS and iPadOS app for the very first time. Not an emulator. Golden Balloon brought Diddy Kong Racing natively to desktop and the web. Never iOS. It runs great on iPhone and iPad! The game is compiled as a native ARM64 app and rendered with WebGPU through Metal. No N64 hardware is being simulated, no N64 instructions are interpreted at runtime, and nothing is streamed from a Mac. This is a racing game, so controller support was non-negotiable. Pair a controller and play with native analog input. I used Sol 5.6 and Deepseek-V4-Flash to build the Apple layer. Open sourcing it all below.

GoldenEye 007 N64 running natively on iOS and iPadOS for the first time. Not an emulator. The GoldenEye decompilation community spent years reconstructing the original game. GoldenEye64Recomp, N64Recomp, N64ModernRuntime, and RT64 provided the static recompilation, runtime, and rendering foundations. I built GoldenPad on top: the iPhone and iPad app, touch interface, native audio and saves, controller support, and the mobile lifecycle work needed to make it run on real devices. It runs great on iPhone. GoldenEye runs better through GoldenPad than it has in any N64 emulator I have tried on iOS. Native ARM64 code, high-resolution Metal rendering, and modern dual-stick controls make a huge difference. No JIT, no N64 code being interpreted at runtime, and no streaming from a Mac. This is the original 1997 N64 game, not the XBLA version, and it is not based on GoldenEye Metal. I am actively working on full local split-screen multiplayer for iPad. MacOS support soon. There had never been a public iOS or iPadOS port. Now there is. The game logic is compiled into a native ARM64 app and runs through BattleShip/libultraship’s Metal/Fast3D path. No N64 hardware is simulated, and no ROM is interpreted at runtime. Smash deserves a controller, so BrawlerPad supports physical controllers through the same input path as the game. Touch works too. The New Big Thing For 2K Players. The Flydigi Controller. - This controller has adjustable tension on the joysticks, making tempo shooting way easier. Instead of adjusting what youre doing, just adjust the controller stick tension to fit how you naturally flick your stick. (Slightly Rushed = Tighten the tension / Slightly Slow = Loosen the tension.) - Clickable Buttons to make every input feel more reactive over a mushy button. - Anti stick drift - 6 Extra remappable buttons. New update for the netplay N64 emulator (RMG-K) adds rollback to every title. This means that input delay is greatly reduced and desyncs are far more uncommon. This morning we managed to play from Spain to Australia with 4 frames of delay! Before this we had to do 9!!!
