Morocco 5v5 + 3 Possession & Counter Pressing Game 🇲🇦 Dimensions: 18(W) x 28(L) Yards In possession, the team must build into a clear shape: 3 central players 2 wide players on the flanks The aim is to keep the ball and complete a set number of passes while maintaining that structure to score points. St.Mirren: Style of Play Manager of the Month, Craig McLeish, showed exactly why he was worthy of that in large spells yesterday. Fraser Taylor & Ryan Carr were an absolute joy to watch at times in midfield and they contribute so much to their style: > Build Out with Risk > Use 3rd Man Vertical Play to Break Through > Runners Beyond/Behind (Denied a Clear Pen) > Numbers to Join Attack to Counter-Press > Recycled Attack after Attack Between 55-80. That control they gained from about the 25th minute onwards was huge, they restricted Rangers to 0 Shots on Target between 22nd Minute and the Goal in injury time. Rangers had a ridiculous spell of pressure between 6th and 22nd minute where they could have been out of sight. Key to note that St.Mirren were also without 3 massive players in Nsio, Phillips & Ramos who have contributed 14 goals this season already. The club is very clearly aligned from Keith Lasley (CEO) to Gavin Miller (Head of Recruitment) to Craig McLeish (Head Coach) on how their Style of Play is Sustainable and will bring performances short-term but longer-term financial stability from player trading An exciting time in Paisley

Value in Visuals as a Coach We have all had a laugh at the Tactics Board but in reality the advantages in showing visuals were clear from the 2 adjustments made against Hearts. 1st Adjustment on Tactic Board: > Switched to a Front-2 > Abandoned WB's in favour of Wingers > McGregor as the Single-CDM 2nd Adjusment on Tactic Board: > Tierney Moved from LCB to LWB > Creating a Yang/Hatate/Tierney Left-Side Overload > Switched to a Back-2 > Abandoned Full Right-Side (Hearts had been playing on it anyway) Celtic after the 2nd Adjustment: > 1 Goal > 5 Chances at Goal > xG of 0.78 If Nancy had done this using a Notepad, Sky wouldn't even have cut to him & tried to use it as a stick to beat him with but reality is, even in football, you might have players better at visual learning than verbal communication.

Another example of Xabi Alonso's team rotations. Palmer brings it forward in the RHS, Gusto wide; they rotate Palmer wide and Gusto inverted. Palmer is in a position for a 1v1 take-on, doesn't receive it in a way to go 1v1 and passes back; Acheampong makes an inside dart to the RHS. Central overload with Rogers, Gusto and Josh in and around the same area. Notice Chavarria, instead of pulling wide, stays inside for counterpressing purposes, and Chelsea are applying minimum width, no width on the left. Enzo plays a wonderful through ball, and Josh gets on to it. Robinson didn't know who to mark. Central attacking prioritized.

We failed to attack John Souttar, preferring to pass the ball about between Kasper, CCV, Scales and McGregor (to find the point of attack, apparently). Nygren is a central midfielder all day long and is wasted on the wing. Engels needs to take more responsibility. Not once has he grabbed a game by the bollocks and orchestrated play. McGregor passes the ball back to where it came from, rather than turn and pick out a forward pass. He’s undroppable but wouldn’t be in the team based solely on performance. Brendan’s style is tedious and easy to set up against. We have poor energy and no tempo. Everything is too precise and we never try the unexpected to create a bit of chaos. Too many players are passive. Where are our leaders? KT not finishing any games is a major concern. Scales was our best player.

Celtic Defending Corners 🟢⚪️ The video has graphics with important information, however to expand on this: - Conceded a goal from a corner in each of the last 3 games since Nancy arrived, albeit one was an O.G. - Marking system is very man-to-man orientated. - Markers then outmatched by their opponents both in terms of height and aerial aggressiveness. - Scales and Trusty are both capable in the air but are being dragged out into negligible positions by decoy runs, they'd be more effective attacking the ball from a zonal position in the centre. - No zonal players on the centre of the 6 yard box, where high xG chances are conceded, see the post I wrote about Hearts' goals from corners earlier in the season.

Motherwell: Building Out & Attacking 65mins & 3-0 up at Tynecastle is up there with one of the Best "Footballing" performances I have seen from a Motherwell side. "Playing out from the Back" is an attractive way to play if it has brilliant technical detail from an intelligent coach, which clearly, Jens Berthel Askou is. His Understanding of Hearts/McInnes "Press" is Perfect: - Inviting Hearts to Jump "Man for Man"(McInnes Press) - Targeted CM Overloads & Inviting Hearts CB's - Elijah Just & Tawanda Maswanhise Movement & Rotations were excellent to create space between Findlay & Milne - Willingness to Mix it up when they could see a 3v3/4v4 in Hearts Half 1st watch of Elijah Just & a very impressive performance: - Brilliant Scanner - Great Understanding of Space/Distance between Findlay and Devlin & how to attract each - Quality on the Ball thereafter to Put it "All Together" - 2 Assists, 3 Chances Created & MOTM Arguably as well, at 3-1, Motherwell stopped doing what they had been doing & started to go "Direct" and for me, that's what caused the comeback. Very impressed by them on this viewing 👏

Motherwell: Building Out & Attacking 65mins & 3-0 up at Tynecastle is up there with one of the Best "Footballing" performances I have seen from a Motherwell side. "Playing out from the Back" is an attractive way to play if it has brilliant technical detail from an intelligent coach, which clearly, Jens Berthel Askou is. His Understanding of Hearts/McInnes "Press" is Perfect: - Inviting Hearts to Jump "Man for Man"(McInnes Press) - Targeted CM Overloads & Inviting Hearts CB's - Elijah Just & Tawanda Maswanhise Movement & Rotations were excellent to create space between Findlay & Milne - Willingness to Mix it up when they could see a 3v3/4v4 in Hearts Half 1st watch of Elijah Just & a very impressive performance: - Brilliant Scanner - Great Understanding of Space/Distance between Findlay and Devlin & how to attract each - Quality on the Ball thereafter to Put it "All Together" - 2 Assists, 3 Chances Created & MOTM Arguably as well, at 3-1, Motherwell stopped doing what they had been doing & started to go "Direct" and for me, that's what caused the comeback. Very impressed by them on this viewing 👏
