Rangers: Defending & Dujon Decisions It is the first game of the season and if this was an isolated lack of concentration, it wouldn't even have been analysed in this way. Dujon Sterling, in this goal, made a lot of similar missteps to the Motherwell goal last season: > Decision-Making to Jump Early > Late to Identify Real Risk > Fernandez Press & Back-4 Can't Narrow > Recovery Run is Not Quick Enough My main concern is this is very basic defensive principles, it is nothing that every coach won't demand & it's lapses in concentration/desire that we have seen season on season. Value in Visuals as a Coach We have all had a laugh at the Tactics Board but in reality the advantages in showing visuals were clear from the 2 adjustments made against Hearts. 1st Adjustment on Tactic Board: > Switched to a Front-2 > Abandoned WB's in favour of Wingers > McGregor as the Single-CDM 2nd Adjusment on Tactic Board: > Tierney Moved from LCB to LWB > Creating a Yang/Hatate/Tierney Left-Side Overload > Switched to a Back-2 > Abandoned Full Right-Side (Hearts had been playing on it anyway) Celtic after the 2nd Adjustment: > 1 Goal > 5 Chances at Goal > xG of 0.78 If Nancy had done this using a Notepad, Sky wouldn't even have cut to him & tried to use it as a stick to beat him with but reality is, even in football, you might have players better at visual learning than verbal communication.

175 Corners Later - Goal Rangers finally scored from a corner this season & it was a different routine, a short routine but was it planned?! First Corner: - Propper is involved in the first one - Sterling isn't even up yet Second Corner: - Tavernier is walking over to take it - Cerny isn't ready for it - Multiple players aren't watching It looks more like players just decided on their own urgency & Igamane took it upon himself to take it whilst Celtic weren't set. Alternative angle of the Calmac stramash, with Trusty playing the part of peacemaker, shooing away Barron & the odious Moore in the manner a schools ref would dismiss an unruly kid. It's at times like these I wish Celtic had a Roy Keane "hard man" type in the team. I'm not one to condone violence but there were plenty of Rangers players just asking for a slap across the puss during this incident. Our current squad are a bit on the wimpy side when it comes to that sort of thing. NOTE: no offence to anyone who identifies as a wimp.

Stop At Source > Back-5 is Not Connected > Tavernier Starting Position is Poor > Should Have Conceded a Throw-In; Not a Goal Defending the Box: Man or Ball/Space This one is more complex, as it really depends on your "Philsophy" defending the box as "Space doesn't score goals" but if you leave it to man-marking you increase the chance of individual errors leading to goals: > Sterling, Djiga & Fernandez should all be on a line after reading angle of crosser > Fernandez should mirror Sterlings perfect Body-Shape > Fernandez would win that header in my opinion & it remains 1-1 Thoughts? Asked Brad Stevens if resigning Al Horford is still a priority: “I don't know what I can say about this or not say about it. I mean, we made offers to both Luke and Al. We would’ve loved to have had both of them back. I'd say that's unlikely. The only reason I haven't talked about Al is because it's not final. I could probably talk about Al my whole press conference and not say enough. But you know, I don't want to speak in absolute terms until an ultimate decision is made. But another guy that, if he were to go and play somewhere else, was an all-time Celtic. A winner, and did everything he could for this organization. Not only from the games but also how he impacted our younger players, who, in a lot of ways, now have to take what they've learned from the Jrues and the Als and people like that and apply that from a leadership role.”

Here is the play in question by Ryan, and as much as this is obvious that the catcher didn't secure this ... the rule in place for scorers is if a thorw BOUNCES, it is a throwing error. I do not like applying this in this type of instance on a throw from the outfield, but right now that's how the rule reads. Only the committee can change it on appeal, and they would have to do that against the writter rule (to the consternation of those in charge I'm certain). But letter of the law ... the throwing error is correct.

Factory is busy but we are not making any money. Raw material prices have eaten up all the profits. Right now, it feels like we’re just working for nothing. If this continues, we’ll start paying out of pocket. On one side, it’s good to see the factory full and running. On the other, we know this is just servicing work - it’s not contributing to real growth. Hopefully things streamline in the next few months.

Might of found a way to use this mechanic in comp. I've seen people do this on the floor a couple times but not really on the wall in this way. I do think this could be used in comp because of the sharp change in trajectory of the ball and it could seriously bait out players. Not to mention it can be done on any part of the wall so even off the ceiling. I'm already getting fairly consistent at it on one side and I've practiced it for a day. It feels like doing the breezi flick for the first time but this could be a more practical mechanic. If it can be done on command consistently it has ridiculous potential for passes and other stuff Not saying this is a new mechanic btw nor is it guaranteed to become meta but I love the idea of seeing innovation and new things in the game because there isn't much of it these days so I hope people aren't closed minded about it. Would love to hear opinions on it

Celtic Defending Corners 🟢⚪️ The video has graphics with important information, however to expand on this: - Conceded a goal from a corner in each of the last 3 games since Nancy arrived, albeit one was an O.G. - Marking system is very man-to-man orientated. - Markers then outmatched by their opponents both in terms of height and aerial aggressiveness. - Scales and Trusty are both capable in the air but are being dragged out into negligible positions by decoy runs, they'd be more effective attacking the ball from a zonal position in the centre. - No zonal players on the centre of the 6 yard box, where high xG chances are conceded, see the post I wrote about Hearts' goals from corners earlier in the season.
