Edwin Sifuna: Former DP Gachagua is impeached; he cannot run. I do not understand why people talk about him as a viable candidate. The value proposition for Gachagua for me, from an ODM perspective, is that he is taking away votes that helped beat us in 2022. For as long as he is taking away votes from Ruto, I don’t care where he takes them; he is not giving William Ruto. If Raila Odinga were to get the exact same number of votes that he got in 2022 in 2027 and William Ruto loses Mt Kenya, Raila will be President. ODM leader Raila Odinga now demands full implementation of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report as a condition for continued cooperation with President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government. Speaking at a public consultation forum with ODM delegates in Malindi, Kilifi County, Odinga outlined key issues his party wants addressed, including the high cost of living, abductions, devolution challenges and unresolved matters linked to the Social Health Authority (SHA). Renovation of Kawukudi Park into Modern Mini-Stadium Construction has began on a new 1,000 seater multipurpose mini stadium at Kawukudi Park in Nima. The facility will include a modern astroturf pitch, changing rooms, and spectator stands, and is designed to support both Premier League matches and community sports programs. Hon. Baba Jamal, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East Constituency, called the project the “heart of Nima.” He pledged that it will be completed within 12 months and that contractors will be paid on schedule. Once complete, the astroturf stadium will feature VIP access, secure spectator routes, high-quality finishes, and lighting for day-and-night use. It will be equipped to host top-level matches.

The day Raila Omollo Odinga tapped into Edwin Sifuna’s body, instead of joining the other spirits of politics, was the day Edwin Sifuna stood in front of all ODM mourners who were feeling very sad about the loss of Mzee Raila. Edwin Sifuna stood strong at the podium, in an orange shirt, and quoted the last wish of Mzee Raila Omollo Odinga, where he clearly stated that ODM will be in the 2027 presidential race, and they will only be in the broad-based coalition if the 10-point agenda is met within 100 days. That moment, for me, was more than politics. It was about carrying forward the wishes, principles and political legacy that Mzee Raila left behind. But as you can check from the news materials, youths have been killed, and some have even lost their lives while in police custody. The health sector is not working at all. Mwananchi is struggling, and the very issues that ODM promised to fight for are still staring us in the face. This is why I believe Sifuna understood the assignment. He didn't stand there to replace Raila. He stood there to carry the torch. And since that day, I have looked at Edwin Sifuna differently. Because sometimes, leadership is not about taking someone's position. It is about having the courage to continue the journey when the person who inspired it is no longer there. Mzee Raila may be gone, but the dream, the struggle and the responsibility to fight for a better Kenya cannot be buried with him. That orange shirt was not just a colour that day. It was a reminder. Ruto will do everything to retain power and based on the state sponsored violence we witnessed during by elections held country wide we expect even worse following 2027 August Elections. 2. In 2017, late Raila Odinga (may his soul RIP) contested the presidential election results and filed a petition in the Supreme court. 3. Raila Odinga called for Nationwide demonstrations in 2017. He urged supporters to go to the streets to protest the results of the August presidential election and to demand the resignation of IEBC officials and electoral reforms. 4. Supreme court nullified Kenya presidential election in 2017. David Maraga declared the election of Uhuru as invalid and order fresh elections. 5. Uhuru said he would respect the court's decision but also branded the judges as crooks. 6. Ruto warned Maraga, "We may not be learned but we are not stupid. Na tunataka Maraga atusikie vizuri kwa sababu he has had his day and ours is coming. By the way that is not a threat". 7. Ruto admitted that he nearly slapped Uhuru. The incident happened after the Supreme Court nullified their election win, when Ruto claimed a disheartened Uhuru wanted to abandon the presidency and retire. During our visit to Bahir Dar city, we observed the Bahir Dar International Stadium as well as various ongoing projects aimed at making the city more suitable for tourism development. The Bahir Dar International Stadium is undergoing significant upgrades to meet the standards set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The stadium, which will have a capacity of 52,000 spectators, has completed its seating installation and turf works. In addition, essential infrastructure inside the stadium — including the lighting system — is being rapidly developed. Furthermore, we visited the Fellege Ghion Resort, which is being constructed on the shore of Bahir Dar city based on the model of the Gorgora Eco Resort. Once completed, this resort is expected not only to boost the city’s tourism sector but also to create numerous employment opportunities for young people. On another front, the Ethiopian Maritime Transport and Logistics Company is constructing the Ethio-Ferries branch office in Bahir Dar, along the shore of Lake Tana. This project, along with other ongoing development works, will play a major role in ushering Bahir Dar into a new chapter of urban growth and modernization.

He may have been unwilling or unable to choose either option, possibly due to pressure from his family, inner circle, or foreign influences, who prioritized their political agendas over his health. In all the 75 years that Jaramogi Oginga Odinga (1950 to 1994), James Orengo (1994 to 1997) and Raila Odinga (1997 to 2025) were recognised as the undisputed leaders of the Luo community, and regardless of the age-old differences between the Luo and the Kikuyu, none of them ever stood on a public podium and said anything this shocking. Oburu says in this clip that "Kalenjins are our types and our relatives, but we will never have anything with Kikuyus because they will never change and we have tried many times, but those ones are not ours". Oburu also says that Luo elders totally opposed "Kibaki Tosha" in 2002, without explaining how then Raila successfully ran it into a winning machine. Of course he won't mention that meeting at Ofafa Memorial Hall, when Raila met and explained to Luo elders, as their SG, Prof Gilbert Ogutu, took notes, that removing the destructive Kanu regime was a bigger national responsibility than Luo-Kikuyu rivalry. The last real Luo-Kikuyu act was that of Jomo Kenyatta's own son trying to make Jaramogi's son president in 2022. No matter how much peddlers of tribal hate seek to twist this event, history will always record that Uhuru Kenyatta, against every prevailing philosophy, backed Raila Odinga for President in 2022. FACT. Just like Raila believed in 2002 that the perennial divide between the Luo and the Kikuyu was hurting the country's social fabric and its wider inter-ethnic relations, Uhuru acknowledged in 2022 that giving power to the Jaramogi household would probably be the most revolutionary action in the country's independent history. And this is where Oburu and intellectual saucepans like Atandi will find themselves in trouble if the hatred they now peddle turns into an ICC-level conflict in 2027, a conflict not involving Luos but started with loose talk cleverly egged on by non-Luo government networks. The last real Luo-Kikuyu act was that of Jomo Kenyatta's own son trying to make Jaramogi's son president in 2022.
