Never understood the importance of 40 times Running in a straight line with no pads is so much different than game speed

Worthy’s problem is his elite speed is all focused on his top end. He’s not very quick so there’s not many opportunities for him to reach that elite top end speed.

he just doesn’t make anyone miss either.

He got speed but he can’t use it

One of their all-time greatest takes honestly

He’s track fast. Football needs that blend of speed, agility, and acceleration to actually be fast on the field. Sick deep ball threat tho (if you can scheme it)

always a bit jarring to see the boys in the wild like this but I like it

X is definitely straight line fast. Like he’s got a good stride once he’s going. Tyreek was just so damn twitchy fast. I’m not sure X’s linear speed translates to the field nearly as well as Tyreeks does. Although that’s a tough comp for almost anyone.

Anyone who actually watched him in college knew this but the NFL saw the combine and couldn’t help themselves from over-drafting a 3rd rounder type

Kelce still seems to be their best receiver and he running in concrete socks

Firstly, Worthy was 1 of the 2 players who got over 20 mph last year. Second, his acceleration isn’t really that elite it’s the fact that he kept accelerating the full 40 yards that got him to a 4.22. He can only really show off his speed if he’s running a long way untouched.

The 40 stops being stupid the day they make them run it in pads

Unathletic dudes trying to clown on a guy for his speed and have no idea how straightline speed differs compared to horizontal running, cutting, and acceleration. This is why I hate the Worthy talk. These guys literally have no understanding.

Ringer guys stay undefeated

He’s fast but not quick He’s got like 0 acceleration and first step/cuts

Wildly accurate take

He's fast what he's not is quick

Speed =/= route running. Tyreek was a much better route runner which made him seem even faster

He’s fast, he’s not quick

He easy to tackle. One hand on him and he goes down

So yeah... uh. Tyreek Hill has been caught on those kinds of plays several times. So theres that. If you actually watched downfield routes you would pretty easily see he's faster than most players

Worthy is fast but has dog water agility and bad acceleration which means he only looks fast once he has a chance to really open up. So his top end speed is actually 4.21 but everything else is piss poor. Bc in an actual game in football ur agility and acceleration are seen on display more than ur chances to just open and run to ur top speed. And w/ his acceleration and agility being so meh, he can have many wondering how he ever ran a 4.21 Doesn’t reach top speed in this clip till a little past the 20. U see the 4.21 speed then

Why are the cohosts so baffled? 40 speed may as well be uncorrelated to game speed. Worthy has no speed in game

i mean worthy hit 24 mph lmao he’s fast he just isn’t great. if tyreek hill wasn’t so phenomenal outside of his speed he woulda looked like worthy does

Facts from a Chiefs fan

I see we are learning why Madden has speed, agility and acceleration attributes

He’s right
