Never understood the importance of 40 times Running in a straight line with no pads is so much different than game speed

Worthy’s problem is his elite speed is all focused on his top end. He’s not very quick so there’s not many opportunities for him to reach that elite top end speed.

Firstly, Worthy was 1 of the 2 players who got over 20 mph last year. Second, his acceleration isn’t really that elite it’s the fact that he kept accelerating the full 40 yards that got him to a 4.22. He can only really show off his speed if he’s running a long way untouched.

Worthy is fast but has dog water agility and bad acceleration which means he only looks fast once he has a chance to really open up. So his top end speed is actually 4.21 but everything else is piss poor. Bc in an actual game in football ur agility and acceleration are seen on display more than ur chances to just open and run to ur top speed. And w/ his acceleration and agility being so meh, he can have many wondering how he ever ran a 4.21 Doesn’t reach top speed in this clip till a little past the 20. U see the 4.21 speed then
