This is the new money grab. You are being monitored not only you location but where you live. You come from a nice neighborhood your price goes up. You talk about something with your friends or family about a product. Your price goes up, pure corporate greed and if it is not against the law they will take full advantage.

Same product, same shelf. No one should pay more because an app decided they can. Stop this garbage.

IMO>Get rid of you phones. Go back to a land line. Everything we have been sold is useless, unless you believe you need it. We either do that, or get real and admit the Constitution is for everyone, not just an address. Then all of these BS tactics go by by in a day. Truth Will Out.

Leave your phone in the car or get a Faraday bag to stow it while in the @Target store.

This is a strong case for ordering online and having it delivered to a store near you for pickup. Online prices should be straight across the board with no geofencing.

Just think about how much data Amazon has collected about each of us and precisely how we shop, for what, when and how, from their closed system. I bet they’ve done A/B testing on all of us. And OF COURSE they’re going to sell data that to third parties.

Put your phone in airplane mode when you go shopping, before you get in the car. Then the last ping was you at your house.

Target really has gone to shit the last few years ever since they became more focused on woke pandering than on affordable shopping.

exactly why I use my phone ONLY for talking or texting! I have never used my phone even to look up something on Google, I refuse. I shop locally or not at all. Use cash for most purchases. LOL, it makes a difference and no constant "ding, ding, ding" of "apps" hitting you up for sales.

Buy a faraday bag. Put your phone in the bag before entering the store. The invasive readers can’t calculate prices if they can’t see you.

I've stopped shopping in stores unless it is Aldi or Trader Joe's. I have delivery from other places. That will keep them from dynamic pricing me out of the store, but once people stop shopping in the store, how will they increase the price?

Cannot wait to hear all the FLOCK people who now plan to stop shopping in ALL the stores that do this (which is many)!

Everywhere, everything, they want us to have the app Uber apps is three fold: 1) installed to replace public transportation simultaneously stealing tax dollars to pad their budgets, while identifying us at our every move. Enough Smart phones, enough Apps, already

I'm curious though, doesn't Target post the price on the shelf? How does the scanner know what price to charge, the standard or the upscale price?

Why would anyone still shop at Target, anyway? I quit them when they first tried the men in women's bathrooms thing.

Yesterday I was told the stores and shopping carts will be using sensors to track your gait and biometrics. In a hurry, have a sick child and need something quick = price hike. How is this legal ?

Consumer Pricing Investigations finds ‘Surveillance pricing’ is being expanded in America “Could you be paying more for a product than the person right next to you? It's called personalized or surveillance pricing” Walmart filed highly technical patents showing AI technology is going to be used to set prices “Investigation into so-called surveillance or personalized pricing — Companies know there's money to be made by surveilling us, by learning things about us that point to the highest price we're willing to pay. In our test on a Walmart TV, one of our Atlanta price checkers, JP, was given a price over $1,000 while the rest of us were all under $900 — Still to this day, we're inches away from each other, and apparently that's enough for a price difference of $100+” There are documented cases for each of these companies proving they are already using this surveillance pricing Target: Settled a California case for about $5 million after its app raised prices when shoppers were geofenced near a store. One reported example was a TV jumping from about $500 to about $600 in the parking lot Instacart: 2025 Consumer Reports test found identical items at the same store at the same time priced differently for different shoppers, as much as 23% Kroger: Uses loyalty data arm to profile tens of millions of shoppers, including income estimates and give different prices for promotions Uber and Lyft: Algorithmic fares that differ for the same trip at the same time Delta: Uses AI pricing system on a share of domestic flights with plans to expand Tinder: Charged older users substantially more for the same subscription Orbitz: Mac users were steered toward higher priced hotels than PC users Staples: Wall Street Journal testing found higher online prices for the same item when the shopper was farther from a competitor store The Princeton Review: Online prices varied by ZIP code, with higher prices in areas with larger Asian populations Amazon: Also has been caught but said they stopped… JetBlue: Facing a lawsuit alleging surveillance pricing

Walmart manager confirms the store is changing prices of items from the time you pick them up to the time you get to the register “So me and my son went to Walmart to pick up some butter and some other items for my baking, and I grabbed my stuff, and I'm very aware of prices because of how high stuff is. And I go to check out and I start noticing that my prices are higher, and I'm like, okay. So I call the manager over And he comes over and he says, uh, you know, the prices can change from the time you leave the area to the time you get to the register because the computer updates” The manager confirms that just within that couple minutes they’re allowed to change the price According to Walmart they are implementing these digital pricing tags throughout all their stores and the prices can change. The CEO made a statement saying the prices will change but it’s by item, not person. He also said the price changes are supposed to be done outside of customer hours But this is a big issue for many people because with these tags the items can be changed mid-day or based on demand. Yes they’re the same price for everyone but that’s still dynamic pricing This isn’t a conspiracy theory wither, Walmart has been sued by California for issues with pricing like this more than once. So the CEO is saying one thing but what people are seeing in the stores, what their employees are saying and what lawsuits are showing is the opposite
