The 1999 version did this scene the best

@retro_twt 99 definitely the best in portraying darkness and sadness of Killua

@retro_twt Is that kurapika? I've never seen the '99 version if this is hunter x hunter

@retro_twt Paprika is such a wild movie

@retro_twt I usually prefer the 2011 version for most of the series, but 1999 is ABSOLUTELY the better way to watch the Yorknew City arc. In general, I think the 90s show handled a lot of HXH's darker moments a lot better. I really wish we had gotten to see their take on Chimera Ants.

@retro_twt 1999 did EVERYTHING better, it was really peak anime style and it’s still my absolute favourite

@retro_twt Scarier than the newer version.

@retro_twt This scene ❌ Every scene ✅

@retro_twt I e always preferred the 99 version. It’s more raw and graphic, plus that 90s vibe is just chefs kiss

@retro_twt which anime is this?

@retro_twt I’m sorry I know animation’s still great and the current technology allows for so much freedom and we’re getting movie quality seasonal anime now and blah blah blah, but 90s is when anime peaked for me like FUCK dude nothing hits the same

@retro_twt For some reason, I've always liked the way he leans forward unevenly into the sink.

@retro_twt

@retro_twt The best parts of the anime are when you can tell they ran out of time and just threw a photo in the background instead of painting it lol

@retro_twt What scene the '99 version didn't? That's the question.

@retro_twt I really miss this old hand drawn style. It has a roughness to it that gives it a lot of character. The computer assisted stuff nowadays is pretty bad

@retro_twt Pueden decir lo que quieran pero para mí está serie de Hunter X Hunter de 1999 es mucho mejor que la serie actual

@retro_twt Great anime, I love 1999 version. Is darker

@retro_twt I kinda wish Hunter x Hunter 2011 had a similar art style to the 1999 version (at least the colors) it just fits the tone for Hunter x Hunter so well.

@retro_twt Hxh 2011 was perfect, except for the atmosphere. I just don't get why madhouse didn't do it justice

@retro_twt Jesus, that was intense.

@retro_twt The 1999 version did almost everything best from fight choreography to scene direction to tone.

@retro_twt Kurapika is such a menace, this is how he should be portrayed

@retro_twt Yorknew City arc was better on the 1999 version

@retro_twt does anyone know how i can download this verison in english dub? i did download it from gogoanime but i lost the files but i want to rewatch this again

@retro_twt 1999's dark vibe is just perfect for the HxH world. I'll die on this hill.

@retro_twt THIS was creepy af. They nailed it tbh.

@retro_twt Is there anywhere to watch this online right now?

@retro_twt lowkey gotta watch the 1999 ver 👀

@retro_twt Wheres the pirates at the caribean soundtrack tho?

@retro_twt Agreed!

@retro_twt Retro anime just hit diff

@retro_twt sharingan first draft

@retro_twt @grok اسم فیلم

@retro_twt And something that fcked me up good is that Kurapika is he.
