What does this do? - This plugin allows users to play the game without needed Steam Input on PC for most devices. This includes fixing many issues that made in person controller support and hot swapping (unplugging and plugging in controllers while the game is running) a better experience! Specific Improvements: 1. Per Port GameCube Controller adapter support: - Unplugging a GameCube controller now is closer to functioning like super smash bros ultimate and Rivals of Aether 2! The game remembers the port and controllers plugged into the adapter. This makes it far easier to play with different people or play the game at a local! - There is a minor issue known about this feature it is being investigated. Pressing B to clear the Character select screen of your character selection and then unplugging and swapping GCC ports may briefly cause you to not be able to select a character. This has an easy work around of simply holding the Back Button until you arrive on the Stage Select Screen. The issue is resolved after doing that. 2. Removed Double input issues with PlayStation devices 3. Added Button Glyph support for the Nintendo Pro Controller! Your buttons now appear correctly in game and will swap to the correct layout automatically when you plug in the device. Its just like using the controller on the Nintendo Switch. Please comment below with any issues, bugs, or unsupported controllers you use that you think should be supported. Currently the Steam Controller, Switch Procon 2, and any devices that use Steam Input to be detected are not functional with this mod. This is unlikely to change in the future. But will be investigated! You can download the mod now! Please report any issues. Make sure Steam Input is set to Disabled so the mod works!

I'd love if the code for this could be implemented into the game. There are some specific work arounds needed to make it possible but a lot of it is just improving stuff based on the way the games code shows in stuff like DNspy. Hoping to add more stuff like Procon2, PlayStation Glyphs, and more QOL in the future.

I know rivals 1 doesn't officially support GCC but does it have other missing features as well? I imagine everything in that probs just is Xinput? Not very familiar with R1.

Mostly just weird inconsistencies with using the PC mode on the adapter thru Steam Input, i’ve heard lots of complaints of the sticks not being accurate or the dead zones being wonky. I had an issue where it would flip my C-stick inputs, so just random stuff.

Oh yeah I remember that. For rivals 1 rather than using PC mode I suggest using Zadig to change the Nintendo WII U mode to be in read on lib-UsbK mode, then using the "Enable-Libusb-Gamecube" target launch code on steam with Steam Input on. This will make it so the adapter is read via steam as a GameCube adapter but translate the inputs better than how PC modes work. It works for all games you have steam input on for.

I use this as the current official way to run nasb2 events due to the previous bugs in the game. Our mod makes it so it may not be necessary to use this steam code anymore but it is nice for other games like Fraymakers or roa1 that don't support GameCube normally.
