We recently found a kitchen running and serving potatoes and eggplants with tahini so we immediately purchased the whole amount, donate: We were so happy to find a meal with carbs and veggies to serve. The Sameer Project x Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine) ) team provided 8 pots to the Chalets Camp in Gaza City in Northern Gaza. Each pot cost $845 so the 8 pots in total cost $6,760 with 10% commission. Vegetables are sourced from local farms at incredibly high prices. We hate this so, so much. Scenes of starvation and desperation. We hate that these are the conditions that the occupation has created. We hate that young boys and girls, pregnant women, the elderly, set out daily with just an empty pot and the will to feed their families. We continue to hear about massacres at aid sites. Murdering those who are trying to provide for their families. Hungry individuals just like you see in our video. They were just trying to fill their gnawing bellies. And that is how they die? There is no humanity. In an attempt to scale up our food distributions, we provided pots of hot cooked meals to multiple areas in the North. The Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine)) x The Sameer Project team brought 5 Pots of cooked thick lentils to displacement camps in al-Samer area of Gaza City. Each pot of lentils costs 1,000 shekels and after 3% bank transfer charge, approximately $300 or $1,500 for this area before labor and transportation fees. Starting from today rice meals are $9 so we are doubling up on all numbers with aid trucks coming in and more goods available, donate: So far the trucks mainly had sugar, flour and rice, we pray that meat and a variety of vegetables and fruit comes in. On August 1st prices were still at $17.50 per plate and we distributed 225 meals (800g per meal) at Al Katiba Camp, Konia, in Al Rimal. The total cost was $3,938 with 10% commission. In the heat and while exhausted, people wait in queues for hours for food. Sadly due to the ongoing famine, people push through to get a serving in fear of the food running out. Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine)) x the Sameer Project team distributed 150 meals to the civil defense team, ambulance team and individual tents in Al Samer neighborhood in Gaza City, support: . Each meal cost $17.85 with 10% commission so total of $2,678. Each meal of rice weighs 800 grams so it’s enough for 2-3 people. With the ongoing imposed famine by the military occupation, a few bites of food, and especially carbs, is very difficult to obtain. Look at these lines stretching through the overcrowded Port Camp, mostly children trying to bring home a meal for their families. We got the good news that some trucks belonging to the World Kitchen entered through the Zikim crossing, making it safely to warehouses in preparation for distributions. But with 2 million hungry people in Gaza, this is not enough. Our teams continue to provide big batch pots to help feed those in dire need, suffering from this manmade famine. Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine)) x The Sameer Project provided an incredible 20 pots of zucchini and rice in Al-Mina (Port) Camp, west of Gaza City on June 16. Each pot of nutritious stew cost 2,100 shekels or more than $600. This is one of the more filling meals we have provided and the community kitchen cost a total of 43,110 shekels including wages, and then $12,713 after the 3% bank transfer fee for payment. With bakeries closed and aid distribution sites continuing to lure people to their deaths, communities rely on “takiyyas” to line up and receive a meal in a pot they bring with them. Aid is political. We’ve said this over and over again, and the proof is the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation that kills people every single day who are trying to get aid. Support us: Due to lack of funds, we stopped distributing pots in the North and are sticking to 10 pots of lentils in the South. Each pot costs $370 so the total is $3,700. If we want to do vegetable pots the cost is $645 so it would cost $6,450 but we can’t afford that right now. These prices are at a commission of 3% but there is also 7% that we pay to our fiscal host (Social Change Nest). So the full amount for lentil pots is $395 and vegetable pot is $692. As long as borders are closed, the prices of food will remain incredibly high and without more donations, we will have to be limited to rice and lentil distributions. The bombings are continuing, the famine is ongoing, and Gaza is reaching an absolute breaking point. HELP: The situation is dire in every respect. Hospitals cannot treat the injured, there is no fuel, people are searching for water in the heat, babies are dying from malnutrition, Gaza is screaming from the suffering, and the world is ignoring its wails. We are nearing catastrophic levels of famine in which all 2 million people will not have food to eat. Our teams cannot find enough basic ingredients to make our big batch pots, so we have been providing rice meals to the camps that rely on us and do not receive aid from anyone else. On July 13 Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine)) x The Sameer Project distributed 120 hot meals of rice to families in individual tents in al-Samer neighborhood in Gaza City. Each meal is approximately $11.50 after commission, or $1,492 for the rice alone after bank transfer, but not including transportation or labor. The food we can find is expensive.
