India mandated E20 from 2023 for material compliance, and before that it was E10. After 2023, both the cars and the fuel are mandated for E20. The cause of concern is what happens if E20 fuel is used in cars that have been manufactured and sold before 2023, which were primarily designed for E10?... Are we getting scammed? 🤔 I met Pushpendra Singh bhai in Malaysia and was surprised to see fuel prices there. Malaysia offers lower fuel prices, no ethanol blending in regular petrol, and significantly better road infrastructure. In India, consumers pay high fuel taxes and premium fuel prices, yet the standard fuel is E20 blended, while many still deal with poor road conditions. How does that make sense? India lacks the infrastructure to store and transport ethanol-blended petrol. There is no benefit from ethanol. People are unhappy, and yet the govt is forcing E20 on the country.. why? PM Modi is importing large amounts of ethanol from the USA under Trump's pressure. Hence, E20 is being forced upon the people to create a demand for USA's surplus ethanol.

We are TAXPAYERS, not your damn subjects! The vehicle is ours, 15 years of advance road tax is paid by us, GST and Cess are paid by us. Brutal Central and State fuel taxes are paid by us.... #WATCH | Delhi: On ethanol, Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President (Corporate Affairs and Governance) of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, says, "...I think there is a lot of misunderstanding about the fuel. For example, if you look at it from the automotive sector, there is a lot of myth that if you use E20 blended fuel, vehicles will get damaged. It's a myth. It doesn't happen this way. There's a lot of myth about the amount of mileage loss or the fuel efficiency loss. Yes, there is some fuel efficiency loss, no doubt. But it is not so big as it is being made out to be...E85 and E100, that is, 85% ethanol and 100 % ethanol, are not meant for regular cars. It is meant for a different type of technology, which is called a flex fuel vehicle. This vehicle can take any mix of ethanol. So people need not worry. E20 is the standard fuel that will be available, and it is compatible with old vehicles and new vehicles. All vehicles sold after 1st of April 2023 are fully materially compliant with E20. And people need to be reassured that in 2021, before we went into E20, there was a very detailed scientific study done by the leading automobile testing agency in the country, which is ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India). It clearly established that the possible damage to cars and two wheelers which are old is not there. It's very insignificant. And it also established that the fuel efficiency loss is to the extent of 2 to 4 per cent, not significant." On ethanol, he says, "As per the latest statistics from the government, the program so far has helped save 1.9 trillion rupees. Out of that, 1,60,000 crores has gone to farmers. So in the case of India, it's not only helped us to in some way mitigate the energy crisis, but it's also helped us to help the farmers...The reason why not just India, but many other countries are doing it is for energy security, for the agrarian economy, as well as for fighting climate change and environmental purposes."

Hold on - contrast this with the MoPNG press conference where Rahul Bharti boldly claimed that even if a car's manual says E10, it can run on E20 with absolutely "zero issues"! So which is it, Maruti? Does the manual matter, or was that press conference just a PR stunt to mislead millions of e10 or earlier vehicle owners? Paid lifetime Road Tax up to 2039 for an E10 vehicle, but the pumps only sell E20? From a common man's Activa to a luxury Mercedes, millions of vehicles across all strata of society face voided warranties and potential damages. Yet ministers claim "no risk." Do they know more about engineering than the makers who wrote "Up to E10 Only" in the manuals? #WATCH | Bhubaneswar, Odisha: On concerns over ethanol-blended petrol, General Secretary, Utkal Petroleum Dealers’ Association, Sanjay Lath says, "... E20 fuel began to be supplied fully from October–November 2025, and from 1 April 2026 the government made it mandatory for private players and all oil companies to sell only E20. Since the notification, some people have raised psychological concerns, often posting on social media without evidence. At our own petrol pumps, none of the customers’ vehicles has shown any problems with E20. Those posting online also have no proof that E20 damages engines. Yes, three institutions produced reports on the long-term effects of E20, suggesting that older vehicles might experience problems, particularly on rubber parts. But there is no such proof of damage as of now." (04.07)

Most Indians pour their hearts & wallets into buying vehicles! They pay taxes, GST, road tax, taxes on fuel, cess, insurance & taxes on the gst over the insurance of their vehicle! For most their vehicles have a significant emotional and sentimental attachment, yet decent honest Indians are treated like CRIMINALS & their vehicles are impounded at pumps! Explain to me Why scrap a 15-yr-taxed vehicle in 10 yrs? It's the Condition, not age of the vehicle that should matter! And please don't hide behind NGT & babus! If Courts and bureaucrats are to run the show then why did the people of Delhi elect leaders like Rekha Gupta ji? #JusticeForVehicleOwners Sweta Ranjan
