sessions + profiles are the boring magic. once an agent can keep context, touch files/browser/tools, and not restart from goldfish mode every time, it gets way more useful.

yep, that context hygiene bit is the unlock. one giant thread turns into an expensive junk drawer fast.
the desktop is the client. perfect for building. the open question is the gateway behind it - who keeps the agent up at 3am when the desktop's closed. that's the line between a demo and an operation.

I've been delaying it till now, but seeing you talk about has pushed me to finally take the decision and give it a try and integrate it within my workflow.
The useful agent workflow is not the demo. It is the boring loop after it: context, cost, permissions, handoff, audit trail.
Hermes Desktop looks like a big step forward for agent usability but the real competition isn't Hermes vs OpenClaw vs QuickClaw, it's who can make powerful agents simple enough that normal people actually use them every day.

Hermes sessions and artifacts are the two pieces my pipeline keeps underusing. The cost savings angle has paid for the setup time twice over this month.
Good tutorials should show the operating loop, not just the feature list. Sessions, profiles, artifacts, and cost controls are what turn agents from demos into repeatable workflows.

The best AI agent on your computer is useless if your idea is "Uber but for X." Agents got 10x better. Most people's ideas didn't. Fix the input, not the tool.

I have to figure out how to move my Hermes setup from my old Linux machine in my garage to my Mac mini. This is slick.

What I’ve seen shipping three production SaaS apps is the real differentiator isn’t just faster prototyping, it’s using them to lock in proper architecture (Supabase realtime guards, RBAC, webhook retries) before you ever hit 50 users and the vibe coding hangover kicks in.

In the example where Alex uses his Qwen model to scan Reddit every 20 minutes (he says Opus would be very expensive), why could you not do this with the Claude Code subscription? Trying to understand why Hermes in this use case is superior to a Claude Code scheduled cron.
Don't lose your credibility by quoting ai hype grifters. Was expecting more from you, very disapointing.
