@doctorstaci @hubermanlab Lundberg's groundbreaking 1994 research revealed nasal breathing produces 25x more nitric oxide than oral breathing. The molecule's vasodilating properties affect both periodontal and reproductive tissues - an elegant example of systemic biochemical interconnections.

Pro tip--do NOT talk about erections and overall sexual function if there is a woman in the room. I found out the hard way and you do not want to have a similar conversation I had with HR a couple years back. However, to be fair, that was during the previous administration and a lot of stuff was off limits that is fair game now so maybe you're safe.

@doctorstaci Listened to this episode today. Super good! Too many microbiomes to monitor now though 😆 ai think I’m gonna order the kit from Bristle though.

I finally listened to the whole episode and it’s a great podcast and great for people to really understand the importance of oral health! Thank you for focusing on dentistry! The only thing that it didn’t touch on which is just as important is people’s occlusion- or their bite and how their teeth align and come together. Our teeth shouldn’t get shorter or wear down as our age if we have a good bite, and yet so many people in their 30s or older already have worn down teeth. Aside from the environment in the mouth, it could be caused by grinding, their teeth alignment, and/or their chewing paterns. You should talk to John Kois about this. He is excellent and one of the GOATS in dentistry. He is extremely evidence based and so knowledgeable in this topic! I think you would find it interesting because I’ve noticed your teeth are slightly worn down and was wondering the cause!
