@CaseyMeansMD I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but in my opinion, the daily activity cannot be outdone with exercising three times per week. Of course, it is better than lying on a coach, but activity throughout the day is for me an important healthcare.

@CaseyMeansMD There's always a higher standard; you're never doing enough. And then people give up.

This makes perfect sense @hubermanlab — The sedentary job we pose as our new normal is nothing but wisps of our ancestral belongings destroyed to make the way for the new in a way where moment is restricted and knowledge emblem is glorified. The argument of “we work with our brains, who needs a body” is soon going to puncture our very foundation of humanity. I remember this scene from Wall E where how mankind’s future looked like? Not pretty. Alarming.

@CaseyMeansMD Having a desk job is horrendous for the body. It’s caused me more long-term physical problems than any lifting or sports ever could

@CaseyMeansMD Feel like I’ve had a hunch about this for a while now.. I work from home sitting all day, but because I exercise daily for an hour, I thought maybe that was a good balance.. but I always wondered if that alone was enough to counter the many hours of sitting.

It’s not a matter or exercise vs no exercise. It’s a matter of proper maintenance vs overuse/repetitive use/ignorant use. It’s a matter of exercising properly for the long term vs exercising ignorantly for the short. Exercise absolutism is not healthy. If you worked in a PT office for almost 2 decades you would see what exercise absolutism does to people. It creates more problems in the long term, as well as the short. It’s all about mitigating wear and tear and overuse/misuse. I’m am the first person to say it’s good to exercise BUT you can still achieve optimal health through proper education. I haven’t ‘worked out’ in almost 4yrs. it’s all about a complete understanding of how the body works fundamentally. I am in the process of getting my body right before I take it out to perform. I am 46yrs old.
