So today we are releasing 3 tools to make adding commerce to those agents trivial: - Checkout Kit: embed commerce widgets and checkout(!) directly into your agent and chat. This is already being used by Microsoft’s Microsoft Copilot. - Shopify Catalog: low latency global product search across millions of merchants - Universal Cart: shop from any store, anywhere, in one cart With these, you can build seamless embedded commerce experiences quickly, starting with all the best products by the best merchants in the world instead of having to sign them all up individually. No need to build a complex new checkout, or dealing with regulatory marketplace rules. Commerce just plugs in and feels seamless in conversations. We believe commerce should be everywhere people are, so we’re making that as easy as possible for the AI age.

It's the deep understanding of the problem you're solving and the humility to approach it at the right level. Commerce is infinitely complex and always evolving; it's hubris to pretend anyone can 'spec commerce'. But wait — isn't UCP trying to do exactly that? No, UCP doesn't 'spec commerce'. It models the rules of the bazaar that make commerce possible. The job of UCP is to build the boring parts: the small core of common and composable primitives, and the discovery and negotiation mechanisms that everything else runs on. Done right, this lets commerce thrive in the open, with merchants, agents, and buyers deciding what is advertised, supported, and adopted, not by fiat from a protocol committee. This is UCP. 👇🏻🧵

This is the next big step in the ‘shop while you watch’ era of commerce. Today, all eligible Shopify Plus and Advanced merchants in the US can sign up for the YouTube Shopping affiliate program. Shopify merchants can now work with thousands of YouTube creators who then can tag your products in their videos and live streams, and people can shop while they watch. This is going to be major for merchants AND creators.

We're also introducing Shop sign-in so results are personalized and we’ll be adding the ability for devs to earn commission on sales. We built some fun apps of our own to show what’s possible.
