The “scientific consensus” talking point was succinctly dismantled by Dr. Judith Curry in her interview with John Stossel back in October. 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹: “The overwhelming scientific consensus. That’s what people still believe.” 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝘆: “. . . when you talk about ‘scientific consensus,’ like the Earth orbits the sun, you don’t need to say ‘There’s a consensus that the Earth orbits the sun,’ it’s a well-known fact. When you’re talking about consensus, it’s usually on a topic where there is disagreement, and a government has asked a group to come to some sort of an agreement on what’s what. You see it in science, you see it in. . . medical boards. . . So, it’s a manufactured consensus. It’s a consensus of scientists, which is different than a scientific consensus. . .” Dr. Curry goes on to explain that there is no consensus on the most contentious issues of climate change, such as extent of human contribution and the impacts. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝘆: “. . . there’s a true scientific consensus on very little of this, you know that, • The temperatures have been increasing for over a hundred years. • That burning of fossil fuels emits CO₂ into the atmosphere. • And, CO₂ has a radiation spectrum that sort of keeps the Earth’s surface warm, all other things being equal. Beyond that, there’s no real big consensus on anything. The most consequential issues we don’t have a consensus on: • How much of the recent warming is caused by fossil fuels? We still don’t know. • Is fossil fuel and is warming dangerous? This is the weakest part of the argument. 🚨WATCH: Nursing assistant Ciara Corvan, who filmed and mocked dementia patients at the Bluestone Unit, has been sentenced 🎤Chief Reporter James reports from Craigavon Crown Court. A care worker who took degrading pictures of dementia patients and sent them on Snapchat has been handed a probation order and given 100 hours of community service. Ciara Corvan, 28, committed the offences while working as a healthcare assistant at a specialist ward for dementia patients at the Bluestone Unit at Craigavon Area Hospital. Passing sentence at Craigavon Crown Court today, Judge Patrick McGurgan said Corvan, from Cathedral View in Armagh, had failed to treat patients in her care with the respect and dignity to which they were entitled. Among the images Corvan sent to co-workers on Snapchat was a picture of a female patient in the bath; a video of her shaking a patient’s hand while music played in the background with a caption claiming she was having a “rave”; and a picture of her and a patient with their noses almost touching with the caption “why the f*** is she so close to me?”. Earlier this year Corvan plead guilty to a total of seven counts of ill treatment of patients under the Mental Health Order (NI) 1986. The offences, which covered the period from the autumn of 2022 to the summer of 2023, involved four dementia patients being cared for on the ward. All four have since died. Police said the case was the first prosecution of its kind in Northern Ireland. The judge warned Corvan, who now works for a grocery business, that if she breached the order she would be returned to court and would face the imposition of a custodial sentence. $Last night the regime’s propaganda and only TV station in Zimbabwe, ZBC-TV broadcast this propaganda piece which meant to mislead people into believing that Mutare General Hospital has a working Intensive Care Unit. This silly crude propaganda was meant to push back after a young Zimbabwean doctor died at that hospital because of a dilapidated system, it was in bad taste. The questions to ask ZBC and the hospital are; 1. How can a working ICU be in a room with such archaic equipment? 2. Why do you talk of a working ICU when the patients in the video are not receiving intensive care. 3. Why is the monitor/screen not connected to a patient if there are patients in the ICU, it never occurred to them that we know how it works. 4. How come there is no ventilated patient there, and why would a fractured patient go into ICU? 5. Why is there no patient admitted in the ICU if it’s functional? 6. Where is the anaesthetist and ICU nurses if the ICU is working? Why does the regime resort to such cheap propaganda?$

American Surgeon shows the actual letter from UnitedHealthcare DENYING a patient in emergency condition from receiving care “This is a woman who was in the emergency room with pulmonary embolisms” “I think we all knew this would happen. I had another patient come in and share with me that UnitedHealthcare denied her inpatient's day. So this is a patient who had shortness of breath and some chest pain, and she just knew that something wasn't right in her body. She had a family history of blood clots and she'd had a deep flap surgery a couple of weeks ago. She went to the hospital and they saw her and they found that she had a life threatening condition known as pulmonary embolisms. So she was admitted to the hospital and taken care of really well by the doctors there. And they ordered all the right things. After a couple of days, she was discharged. She got a letter from UnitedHealthcare explaining that they didn't agree with the level of her care and that they would not cover it. So I'm gonna share some of the language of that letter with you, and I want you to know that my patient that we talked about previously who had her surgery denied had almost exactly the same letter shared. So there's some troubling things in this letter. I think this term is really interesting. United is saying they reviewed the request for inpatient admission. So let's all just pause and consider that. This is a woman who was in the emergency room with pulmonary embolisms, and the doctor wasn't really requesting anything. They were saying this patient needs to be in the hospital. But an insurance company sees this as a request, and that's part of this prior auth environment that we're living in. So I think it's important as patients and as physicians to just acknowledge that this is our reality now. Someone can think that there's a good medical decision for you and can write orders and wanna do the right thing for you, but your insurance company is seeing that as a request and deciding whether or not they wanna do it. One of the criteria that this insurance company used to decide whether or not to accept or deny this request was whether it's medically necessary. And it's so interesting that we're letting insurance companies and the doctors who work for insurance companies determine what's medically necessary and not just the doctor in front of the patient in the emergency room. So this is a really bold statement from UnitedHealthcare for my patient. They say you did not have to be admitted as an inpatient to the hospital for this care. I think we all need to just reflect on that. An insurance company is telling a patient and her doctor that they disagree with the plan of care to keep that patient safe. I know that this is boiling down to whether it's an inpatient admission or an observation admission, and that's really about money. But what I wanna point out to you is they're making medical decisions. This insurance company is actually weighing in and disagreeing with a doctor who made a medical decision to admit this patient for her safety. So this specific sentence, when a doctor or facility treats a patient above the recommended level of care, we cannot cover it. What the heck? That's what we do. We go above and beyond as physicians. It's clear that insurance companies don't, and they're actually saying it here.”

This is the reality of hallway health care in Ontario. Because of hospital and ER overcrowding, hallway medicine has now metastasized beyond stretchers — into waiting room chairs. Doctors are caring for patients with metastatic cancer, bowel obstructions, dislocated joints, severe psychosis, and even the deadliest form of heart attack — all in ER chairs. This is what underfunding has done to our emergency rooms. Health care workers have been sounding the alarm for years. No one should fight for their life in an ER chair.

Yesterday at Ikot-Ekpene, the voice of Anioma echoed clearly. As the bill for the creation of Anioma State was presented at the constitutional review public hearing, It came with a powerful reminder of why this cause matters so deeply. Even though I wasn’t surprised by the overwhelming turnout from my people, I was deeply moved. From traditional rulers to youth leaders, professionals to community elders, Anioma showed up, not just in numbers, but with unity, clarity, and conviction. They gave this mandate, and I’m honoured they continue to stand firmly by me as I pursue it. This is a call rooted in history, legitimacy, and justice. We’ve crossed every hurdle required of us. From documentation to consensus. What remains is the decision of this Senate and the will of the Nigerian people to do what is right. Yesterday at Ikot-Ekpene, the voice of Anioma echoed clearly. As the bill for the creation of Anioma State was presented at the constitutional review public hearing, It came with a powerful reminder of why this cause matters so deeply. Even though I wasn’t surprised by the overwhelming turnout from my people, I was deeply moved. From traditional rulers to youth leaders, professionals to community elders, Anioma showed up, not just in numbers, but with unity, clarity, and conviction. They gave this mandate, and I’m honoured they continue to stand firmly by me as I pursue it. This is a call rooted in history, legitimacy, and justice. We’ve crossed every hurdle required of us. From documentation to consensus. What remains is the decision of this Senate and the will of the Nigerian people to do what is right. The Liberals granted permanent residency to 800 international doctors last year through the Federal Skilled Workers Program. Yet, the government has NO IDEA how many of them became licensed to practice medicine and treat Canadian patients. This is why there are over 80,000 internationally educated health care professionals currently in Canada who DO NOT work in their field, while Canadians wait longer for care. The sight of patients on trolleys in corridors is heartbreaking. As an A&E doctor, I see daily how it compromises dignity and care. I'm pleased the Government is committed to ending this. I look forward to working with them to ensure everyone gets the care they deserve.
