Today, we have another new signature under the Peace Summit communiqué – Botswana has joined – and this is important as a signal to everyone in the world that we are expanding, no matter how difficult it may be, the circle of our partners – and thus the partners of peace for Ukraine and everyone in the world who respects international law. Additionally, these days negotiations are ongoing with participants of our working groups regarding the points of the Peace Formula – negotiations about how and when we will fill the implementation of the points of the Peace Formula with the necessary substance. We have done a lot to transition the Ukrainian Air Force to a new aviation standard – Western combat aviation. Meetings in the European Parliament are also planned – with President Roberta Metsola and the heads of political groups. We are at a critical juncture in this war. We need really strong pressure and strong positions for Ukraine. We also discussed the situation on the battlefield, the protection of our energy grid, and the preparation of our country for the winter ahead. Freedom relies on the bipartisan support and determination of the United States. I am grateful for America’s support for Ukraine, which saves lives of our people and helps defend our independence and freedom.

We are now preparing for new diplomatic steps together with our partners in Europe and, importantly, in the United States. In fact, we are in contact almost daily with everyone who can make diplomacy meaningful. As of now, there is no clear information about what exactly the Russians plan to bring to Istanbul. We don’t have it, Türkiye doesn’t have it, and neither do the United States or other partners. And at this point, it looks far from serious. We discussed this yesterday with President Erdoğan. Of course, everyone in the world wants diplomacy to work and for an actual ceasefire to take place. Everyone wants Russia to stop playing games with diplomacy and end the war. Everyone wants a serious peace – and Russia must agree to that. That should be the agenda of the meetings. We have already presented our agenda. And we hope the American side will be decisive on the issue of sanctions – to help bring peace closer.

Today, I met with the delegation of the international parliamentary network United for Ukraine. I thanked them for their consistent political support of our country. This is very important now, during the war, and it will be no less important afterward. We all want a just and lasting peace. We discussed the future of Ukraine, security guarantees, and the outcomes of the meetings in Washington. Separately, we also focused on how frozen Russian assets can be used for Ukraine’s recovery. A united voice and a common position in Europe are of particular importance. I am grateful to the parliamentarians for their support and shared vision that Ukraine must be part of the European Union.
