How many families can we provide shelter to in Gaza before the next rainstorm? Donate now: This week you allowed us to provide shelter to 300 people (40 tents) and we will hopefully buy more in the next couple of days. But this is a drop in the ocean from whats needed. Support mutual aid groups: Winter is almost here and Gaza is suffering without the bare minimum. The children in Gaza Camp in Deir Al Balah were barefoot, some wearing summer clothes, and all were cold. This camp gets minimal support and none of the families had anything to keep them warm for winter. Our The Sameer Project team got to work after taking the sizes of all the children at the camp, organizating a distribution of warm winter jackets, ensuring there was one for each child in need. We provided 103 jackets, each one heavy, water proof and lined, to keep them warm during the winter storms. Each one was approximately $23 and cost a total 2,290 after 9% commission. This elderly couple is struggling with the cold weather in Gaza, and lack of support. Both the elderly and their daughter can’t walk and are wheelchair users. The Sameer Project contacted the family to check what they need and on December 17th, we visited them in Khan Younis and provided 2 mattresses, 2 blankets and a large tarp. The total cost with 9% commission was $172. Blankets and tarps are in huge demand now with the strong cold and constant rain. Our decisions with aid distributions are made with that aim in mind, support: Water is life and without water, certain areas in the Gaza are unlivable. So with the drop in donations, the Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine)) x Sameer Project decided to focus our water campaign to the areas in the far North like Jabalia and Beit Lahia, as well as Tuffah and Zaytoun daily. This will encourage the residents of those areas to come back and for those already there to stay. Our water campaign is an integral part of our work at the Sameer Project. From June 2024 till today, not a day has passed without us distributing water. We would like to increase our water distributions even more but for that we need your help. At the current trajectory, it looks like The Sameer Project will have to reduce water in July and we want to do everything we can to avoid that. We are launching our website and will sell merch on it, and we are also looking for ethical businesses to provide us with a percentage from their monthly profit. In the heat and while exhausted, people wait in queues for hours for food. Sadly due to the ongoing famine, people push through to get a serving in fear of the food running out. Donate: The Sameer Project x Translating Falasteen (Palestine) target areas where limited aid reaches meaning that the levels of desperation are higher. We send extra team members to try and control the crowds and make sure no injuries happen and thank God so far, we have had no injuries. We distributed 7 pots of lentil and rice pots in the Yaffa School Shelter in Al Daraj neighborhood in Gaza city. Each pot cost $535 that includes 3% commission, so the total for 7 pots was $3,745. We send extra team members to try and control the crowds and make sure no injuries happen and thank God so far, we have had no injuries. We distributed 7 pots of lentil and rice pots in the Yaffa School Shelter in Al Daraj neighborhood in Gaza city. Each pot cost $535 that includes 3% commission, so the total for 7 pots was $3,745. The port camp in Western Gaza city has thousands of families and no medical point. The wounded and ill get little to no medical support. Donate here: This is why the Sameer Project x Translating Falasteen team is providing regular wound campaigns, amongst other medical days. This week, the team provided care and wound change for 20 cases in the camp. Without this care, the wounds could get infected and amputations might be necessary. Things as simple as gauze and antiseptic are hard to get a hold of and are currently extremely expensive.
