This independent journalist has his first amendment rights violated by some tyrant police officers who don’t understand the law or the constitution. They think that policy trumps law in this country. Should he sue the department for this?

Part 2

Like the plot to a dystopian movie, New York will now monitor social media writings, collect data, and use law enforcement to crack down on any expression it deems to be hate speech.

The guy was an idiot. He wanted to cause trouble, and he wanted this conflict. There is a big difference. Sorry I have to disagree on this one

Yes sue the hell out of them. That’s why the constitution was written. 🇺🇸

Yeah these guys were total clowns. They really need to be educated.

You bet your a** he should sue. Ridiculous.

Even the Sargent didn’t know they were violating his rights!

If the journalist maintained his composure from the moment he walked in the door, I would file complaints against all of the officers, library employees and sue them all for violating my civil rights. Many people are arrested everyday for not knowing their rights.

Know your rights!!

Yes!

Yes, they can ask you to leave a public building if you're committing a crime of trespass or disturbing the peace. The First Amendment doesn't give you the right to protest wherever, whenever.
