"A stealth-focused immersive sim set within a dark fantasy kingdom. Plan daring heists, infiltrate forbidden locales, and escape with priceless artifacts." now this is a game to support! wishlist here and be sure to follow the talented dev @dominickjohn

No gen AI... but literally inspired by AI with that castle in the distance video we all saw some months ago?

I was sold at "stealth-focused immersive sim inspired by Thief, Deus Ex, and System Shock". Say no more.

What does "revolutionary 3D pixel art graphics" mean? Cool game but it's just lofi art in Unreal and using loads of Imposters and a palette crunch shader. Relax.

I follow him on youtube! His work is genuinely gorgeous, and it's well worth watching some of it because the SOUND design is top tier.

I knew this was a beautiful game, but as an immersive sim I'm very excited to see where this goes!

Songs of Syx is one of the most ambitious solo-developed games I’ve seen recently. A single developer created a deep city simulation with complex social needs, economy and politics. The level of detail in a one-man project is genuinely impressive.

That's good - nice how the fear of Ai "Turking R Jurrbz!" scared them into doing stuff they laughed you off if you asked for in the past. I'll consider getting these - though tons of games already on Steam now I've bought. I do like the aesthetics. Note it's not that hard to do and tons of kits - such as these from Unity... Pic 3 and 4 my own make with Ai - not (yet) a games project though AI makes the idea easier and easier day by day - but it's for a fiction of mine "A better 1980s" where things were like the title implies better and it had 90s technology (in a weird alternative way) so we had 'retro' but not yet retro pixel adventure in pseudo 3D sprite scaling for home computers... Used "Tentari" to avoid CopyWRONG problems with Atari though a fan but "Adventure" is (proven in COURT) a "too generic" title on its own.

Ok, that looks crazy good. Love the pixelated look in a 3d game.

That's awesome!

AI無し?それはつまらないな

@IndieGameJoe having to disclose the no gen AI as the first point is insane ngl but necessary but still insane

made me do a double take 'cuz earlier lool But this looks rad

Uh, I’m definitely going to follow this one! A Thief-inspired game with that kind of visuals, I’m hooked!

Any developer that says they are not using Gen AI is lying to you at this point. It is a far better programmer than any human and the art is not that far behind.

The only acceptable "ghosting" is when you try to beat levels in Thief without NPCs noticing

"no generative AI used anywhere" --- do people actually care as long as it's not obvious?

Nice! have you ever tried the mod Thief: The Black Parade?

Sold at the start. Fell in love 1 minute in when shown you can cause enemies to slip and fall with water arrows🤣

wow

Who cares if its AI or not. I wish he would use generative AI to create more content.

„no gen a used” as a value proposition means they care more about optics than delivering a great experience

Looks like shit

Would You Play This?

you see how AI can help someone with a idea

Take me back to the 2000's games

That's not Pixel Art lol

"revolutionary 3d pixel art graphics" NO?

This is why transparency is everything in digital art right now. The space really needs to understand the massive difference between 'prompt-based Generative AI' and 'Algorithmic Creative Coding' (like building with p5.js or WebGL). Respect to the community for catching this!"

i would kill for an open world game in this style, reminds me of daggerfall, would loooove to fkn around in this world.

It looks great but I don’t believe it at the same time.

so coollll
