This is huge and exactly what is needed for FSD. Elon Musk says future FSD software releases will remember your parking preferences when arriving at a destination. The only time I need to disengage FSD is when reversing into my garage to charge. Hopefully now it’ll remember where and how I want to park. This could also help people with dedicated parking spots at work, etc. I can’t wait to try it out, I know a lot of people were waiting for something like this.

This is the current most frequent weakness of FSD for me. There are a few other things they need to finish, but everything outside of this scenario is super rare for me and mostly an afterthought. It’s incredible that FSD can maneuver through these spaces and eventually figure itself out, but it is still not smart enough in parking lots/garages to be usable. When you let it go, it usually figures itself out, but it takes forever and usually blows by tons of parking spots. The only reason it didn’t get stuck in an infinite loop here is because I toggled destination option from “charging” to “parking lot.” Not sure why it was set to charging, as this destination isn’t a charging destination. I have found that the default destination opinion is very often wrong. It either picks the wrong option, or doesn’t have options like charging when it should. For now, most of us take over at parking lots. Not because FSD isn’t capable here, but because it doesn’t function intelligently enough to be more convenient than just finishing the park yourself. It kinda reminds me of V12 before FSD could reverse. It feels like the brain knows it’s fucking up and wants to do the right thing, but it is blocked from being able to 😂 Wen reasoning stack

Testing FSD 14.3.4 coming into town and it still struggles to slow to correct speed on its own. Speed limits in WI in most towns are 25 MPH. As I come into town speed limit was 45 and it was holding that good. But once I come into town I NEED it to slow correctly to at least 30 so it’s only over by 5 mph If I don’t I will get pulled over. Cops sit at the edge of town. Just waiting to catch you. I tried it again tonight and still does not slow on its own. I usually just switch the speed profile to chill and it immediately slows and I’m good. I can switch it back to standard and it holds at about 5 over. Why can’t FSD just do this on its own? Once unsupervised is here this must be correct. I know FSD is work in progress but this is one of the pain points many of us struggle with. The signs are clearly marked. It even has slow down ahead signs. FSD needs to do its job correctly. I love FSD and I know they will get this but just wanted to highlight the importance of this. Until then I’ll just use the quick change profile trick. 🤙🏼 Tesla AI

Here’s something I don’t understand. We pull up to a vacant supercharger stop. I get a popup on the display that stall 1D is out (it’s over towards the far left side of this station). FSD pulls in, skips tons of open spots to go over and park right next to 1D 😂 I thought it was actually going to take it, but it went for 1C. Is there any connection between the charging network and FSD? Does FSD have awareness of broken down stalls? Just curious if there’s any logic to the way it chooses a spot in a scenario like this

I was leaving a parking lot and witnessed this. 🤔 The car in front of me stops at the line, and FSD of course stops behind them. But when the person in front me goes, FSD doesn't come to a full stop again. Is this a rolling stop or the system didn't know to stop again?

First (potential) safety critical disengagement that I've had in quite a while on 13.2.9. Watch first and then read, curious if others would make the same mistake FSD did. I was supervising and didn't even realize the mistake that FSD made until it was too late. Fortunately nothing happened but this could have been really bad, and I blame whoever setup the cones more than I do FSD. I ended up disengaging at the very end just because I realized we were on the other side of the road with no way to get back to the proper side so I took over and sped up to get out of the lane of oncoming traffic. Shoutout to Matthew Raistrick for making it easy to get this clip in full quality.

I only did a short Uber "shift" today and went ahead and wrapped up early for Sunday night and I'm back home. You may ask what's important about that to you JC? Well, let me tell you. As of today, it has now been exactly one year since my last critical intervention with Tesla FSD. It was on v13.2.8, and it took place in a rural part of east Texas (Ainsworth, TX). At that time, FSD didn't appear to recognize that a school bus on the opposite side of the highway was in the process of putting out their extendable stop sign, so I disengaged by manually braking for the school bus. This moment is memorialized in the first part of this clip. Fast forward to version 14.2, and FSD had handled school buses perfectly. The latest example from a few weeks ago in the second part of this clip, but at this point, I have seen this over and over now with zero times ever having to disengage. Also, not only has it been 12 months since my last critical engagement, it's been 42,847 miles since that disengagement (thanks to lots of Uber and a handful of road trips in the past 12 months). Don't get me wrong, I disengage multiple times per day every day doing Uber for non-critical things such as faulty Uber pins, passengers wanting to go to a different spot than the pin they previously set, passengers wanting to go a specific route of their choosing, Tesla NAV wanting to case the entire neighborhood block to get to a destination instead of just making the damn left turn 😂. But none of these things mean a hill of beans to where we are going, which is saving lives. If driving in an 8-figure route around a Wal Mart parking lot instead of disengaging FSD can save even one life, I will do that for an hour (look kids, Big Ben, Parliament). I am certainly no expert, but if Tesla FSD isn't the greatest software ever developed in the history of man, then whip me, beat me and call me Edna. Because I'm clueless to what could be better. Love y'all! ❤️

One of the wildest things happened to me today on FSD v14.2.2.5 - and I recorded the whole thing. On the way to the Oakland Zoo (47 minutes, 41 miles), I told my significant other I wasn’t going to disengage when we got there. I wanted to see how it would handle the ticket booth. Of course, I said I’d take over if anything unsafe happened, which, by the way, it didn’t - I never needed to disengage the entire ride. This is what happened. We pulled up to the entrance. The car stopped for the ticket attendant. I rolled down the window, told him we had tickets, and he said, “Take a left.” But FSD kept going straight. It probably kept going straight even though the man told me to go left bc it was locked onto a different location in the zoo in the navigation, which was straight ahead. So it continued forward, then exited, and rerouted itself back to the zoo. However, this time, I turned off the destination in the navigation. I turned on Grok and told it we needed to take a left this time. I pulled up to the attendant again, told him I went straight the first time bc I was running FSD, and after that brief conversation… the car took the left, entered the correct area, and then found parking. I was shocked, despite my significant other being frustrated. Bc not only did I never disengage the entire 47 minute ride, but Tesla FSD adapted to this edge case scenario. And this was when I realized I’m witnessing the early signs of sentient behavior in Tesla AI…

Found a FSD V14.2 limit the other night in some of the worst fog I’ve ever driven through at night, while it was raining. In the early part of the video, you can see me take over. I did this because the car was going about 50 mph, and I completely lost my bearings. It’s funny, because cameras def see better in fog than humans. Even this video doesn’t look as bad as it looked to me IRL. But I was totally uncomfortable, and took over because I really had no clue where the road was at the moment I disengaged. FSD didn’t quit here and might’ve been fine, but I’d prefer to see it go slower in these moments. I wasn’t confident that it understood how bad the fog was, and I wasn’t familiar with the area. When I attempt to re-engage, FSD quits immediately. I think this was because of rain (you can see cam visibility pop ups). People will say this is a vision problem, but it really just comes down to needing better context and adjusting speed in these conditions. Conditions this severe aren’t super common, and the brain probably doesn’t have a ton of exp here yet. Idk if I’ll ever find myself in a condition this bad again but if I do I hope to see FSD signal greater awareness.

🐿️ this is the part that broke (because i accidentally hit the mic on my teeth while jumping around singing ‘miracle’ at weverse con) 🐿️ i have saw shaped teeth and my tooth chipped at the bottom part 🐿️ can you see it? this part? 🐿️ since the mic is painted, i thought that some of the paint came off and stuck to my tooth so i kept trying to take it off but when i checked at home the next day, i realized that it was broken 🐿️ but i asked a protocol team member that goes to the dentist often…and since it’s not a molar but just a tiny bit at the end…since it’s really tiny…i asked whether i should go to the dentist….not to take it out, of course but all i can do is get them to grind it…but do i really need to? it’ll probably get more blunt as my life goes on 🐿️ i’m really glad that a lot of it didn’t break though

This is what it is like. I wanted so much to sleep but then came the call. I have 4 of my soldiers going to war and they are with 10 other soldiers from my Brigade. So instead of resting I am making packages for them. I am the store at midnight in Donetsk Oblast. This is possible because of all of you donating and sharing my fundraiser.
