This is f’ing tragic

These places are not the soul of San Francisco. They are huge chains that don't care about the city at all. They drove out the local firms and then abandoned the city. Good riddance

You know who will care even less about the city and it’s people? Some multinational private equity firm or investment bank (which are exponentially bigger than these store businesses). They’ll scoop these up & convert em to luxury condos. As an added bonus, they were probably shorting the stocks of these companies too. When their new condos are about to hit the market, that’s when you’ll see the city start to cracking down on the shoplifting & vagrancy that led to these closings
