The activist, referred to as "Dale," came to the Newport News School Board meeting on Tuesday to discuss a new policy that would allow transgender students to use their chosen names and preferred pronouns during school hours if they choose. "To the parents who oppose this policy, if your child does not want to tell you they are transgender, it is because they don't trust you," Dale said. "You have not earned their trust." Dale went on to say that "God made them this way" and told parents it's "not too late" for parents to accept that.

It's wrong for parents to send their kids off to daycare just so they can "live their life" or work and not see them for the whole day. Children need at least one parent looking after them. Working is necessary, so one thing I would propose is for employers to offer in-office daycare services that will allow parents to attend to their children several times a day, and for work to mandate an hour-long break, only for parents and separate from their lunchbreak, so they can be with their kids. If more workplaces offered this, people would be more inclined to have children because the current system makes it very difficult for parents to be attentive and raise their kids and hold a good job at the same time.

My question on the government's statement for the dangerously drafted Conversion Practices draft bill. The Labour minister presents it as fighting against serious abuse, but actually it threatens to criminalise parents for refusing to affirm gender identity (ie trying to 'convert' so-called trans kids). So if Mum insists you aren't born in the wrong body, or Dad refuses to pay for his kid's puberty blockers, the police or social services could be at their door.
