This is how you handle getting pull over… any questions?

The guys in the comments attacking the officer blow my mind.. I have always offered mine up when stopped, and only a handful of officers have taken it off of me. Most have let me keep it, but I want to show them I’m no threat to them.. He even warned him of speed traps ahead..

Yes, an officer can legally disarm you during a traffic stop. Under the landmark Supreme Court case Terry v. Ohio, officers are permitted to conduct a brief pat-down or disarm a detained individual if they have reasonable suspicion that the person may be armed and dangerous. [1, 2] Because traffic stops are inherently dangerous for law enforcement, courts consistently uphold an officer's right to temporarily disarm a driver or passenger to ensure officer safety. This authority generally applies if you inform them you have a weapon, or if they spot one in plain view. Depending on the specific state and department, the officer may hold onto your firearm and return it at the end of the stop, or temporarily secure it in their patrol vehicle while they process your citation.

So simple…..just comply! They are mostly good people just doing their job.

It’s really not rocket science but it unfortunately is for some..

You mean he didn’t demand a supervisor, claim he didn’t do nuffin, and refuse cooperation!

That's actually how normal people interact with each other, even when one is a police officer and the other is someone who may have broken the law. That's how normal people behave. I get pulled over by a cop, first words out of my mouth, I've got a gun. The officer immediately appreciates it, and it also makes the entire situation a little safer for you, no surprises...

Exactly

It's nice seeing a traffic stop where people don't chimp out on law enforcement for once

Isn’t it?

no reason to be disarmed for a traffic violation. illegal seizure

You broke the law, dingleberry.. Speeding is against the law.. Just an FYI..

@EPHELI_ I generally agree with you, however, I wouldn’t have let him take my firearm so easily without simple checks. I would’ve at least verified who he is, what agency he works for, and the reason for the stop to make sure everything is legitimate as can be. Then comply from there.

@RealMattCouch @EPHELI_ In which case it's easily proven that he's an agent of a foreign power and liable for breach of allegiance (treason). Everything after is simply compounding/aggravating criminal acts. Be under no illusion >> sub 0.01% of a bootlicking population accept that fact.

@RealMattCouch @EPHELI_ I generally agree with this, but I’m tryna live another day man. If I don’t think my life’s in danger and I’m secure as I could be in that moment, I’ll let the cop secure the scene for his safety, which really is my safety at that… isn’t that fucking retarded lol.

oh dont get me wrong, i would absolutely do the same (im an instructor, work at a manufacturer, carry and all that blah blah) and i would 100% allow an officer to procure my firearm at the stop, however i dont agree with that style since most ive ever come across say keep it in your pants and i do the same (i say that to CCW carriers coming into the shop too)

This is the Whitest police interaction ever I have had many like this

Ha! Same!

That works. When I got pulled over the first time when I was carrying, I didn't know how it was going to play out. Surprisingly... I let the officers know I was armed and where it was, was respectful and followed orders. I left with a warning. Even though I was "swerving"

Amazing how that works, isn't it?

Something the left and "changing consumer habits" will never understand.

Imagine you are open carrying, and a female cop approaches you with gun drawn, visibly shaken ...

This is how you handle interactions with police officers. right from the start you’re straight up with them letting them know that you’re willing to cooperate. This is the major distinction between other people that have wildly bad experiences with cops. However, on the same token, I think police need to stop giving out chickenshit tickets such as driving 10 miles or or something over a speed limit or jaywalking getting rid of these BS tickets will go a long way in restoring good relationships between the communities and police officers

Agreed on all accounts!

Yeah well, technically unless you have committed a crime, the police have no right to take your weapon and catalogue it, and you know that exactly what they are doing.

He had zero reason to disarm the motorcyclist. Zero.

What sort of coward needs everyone else disarmed while he is armed? Took his pistol apart? This is peak bootlicking propaganda

pretty much every interaction i've ever had with highway patrol. be respectful, do what they say and they almost always let you off with a warning.

It's hard to understand how folks don't understand this..

That cop just ran the serial on that gun. He practically ran back to the car. Illegal seizure.

Fucking grade A job. Give credit where it’s due. Get this cop an informational podcast to preach to the others.

Facts!

There is no justifiable or legal reason for the cop to touch, let alone confiscate this man's weapon. This is some bullshit.

The rider temporarily surrendering his weapon is no different from LEOs surrendering their weapons at the courthouse door.

Bingo

Why does he have to give up his 2nd amendment right just because he got pulled over? We're not expected to give up our 4th or 5th amendment rights when we get pulled over.

He took the pistol to run the serial #, complete BULLSHIT !!!🤬🤬🤬

why was he disarmed? did the cop also lay down his weapon? citizens have the same right to carry as the guy with the badge.

Yep, too easy. Good cop, good rider, good interaction.

The way it should be!

I do not like how he juat took his firearm without even asking.

That’s the way you do it don’t run be smart. Be courteous. Don’t catch an attitude with the officer Appreciate what he does and you see what that just got him.

Very well said..

Armed citizenry makes for a very polite society.

You're breaking the law. You know you're breaking the law. You get caught. You take your lumps. Who on the planet has not broken the speed limit, on purpose before?

Well said!

No muss, no fuss, no stress exerted, man.

Easy Peasy..

Good reminder for everyone. I’ve always told my kids to keep their hands visible on the steering wheel and calmly answer whatever the officer asks. You just don't know what kind of call the officer might be responding to.

Same

You don’t touch my weapon.

Yes, everything was great except the way the officer disarmed and confiscated his firearm. Im guessing this is in California… I’d say say in 46 or 47 states that ain’t happening!

Still a 4th amendment violation

Last time I was stopped, the officer said, "If you don't touch yours, I won't touch mine." As it should be.

The false premise here is that all LEOs are as professional and reasonable as this one.

It doesn't matter the amount of safety you think you deserve as law enforcement you do not walk up on a free citizen and disarm him. The second Amendment does not afford you the right to strip a man of his rights while serving him a citation. If you're scared go do another job.

Yes, why was his personal property seized without warrant or provocation? “For muh safety.” Either go get more training or don’t be a cop.
