Here is my first drive on Tesla FSD V14.1.2 with the new Mad Max speed profile. Mad Max mode drives very quickly and confidently. It accelerates MUCH quicker off the line (love that) and maxes out at 85mph on the highway. If you like to drive fast, you're going to love this new mode. It may not come through on screen very well, but Mad Max mode makes the car zoom around town like it's on a mission lol. It's unlike any FSD mode Tesla has ever released before. Hurry mode now maxes out at 80mph on the highway, while the new Sloth mode matches the speed limit, which for me tonight was 65mph on the highway.

Trying FSD V14.1.2 in a parking garage for the first time (Mad Max mode on). I initially wondered why it drove all the way to the top level, but there was an access point into the main building from there, so it actually successfully navigated and chose the best level to be on.

V14.2.1 highway regression vs 14.1. In standard mode, FSD makes a maneuver into the left lane to pass a semi truck. Because they have jailed the speed limits of non mad max profiles, FSD cannot use acceleration to make this pass. So it ends up camping the left lane. In my right side view mirror, you can see someone coming up on my ass, and FSD is not getting back over. It’s also not speeding up to pass the semi because it is in speed jail. I had to scroll mad max to get through the maneuver. Def a regression from 14.1.

V14.2.1 highway regression vs 14.1. In standard mode, FSD makes a maneuver into the left lane to pass a semi truck. Here is my first drive on FSD V14.1.7 (with commentary). No interventions the entire drive. Overall, no major issues. It does feel a little smoother than 14.1.4. Mad Max Mode also seems to have a slightly lower top speed on the highway, and drives more comfortably, which is good. Looking forward to V14.2! 4K version in thread below.

Here is my first drive on FSD V14.1.7 (with commentary). No interventions the entire drive. Overall, no major issues. It does feel a little smoother than 14.1.4. Mad Max Mode also seems to have a slightly lower top speed on the highway, and drives more comfortably, which is good. Looking forward to V14.2! 4K version in thread below.

8 drives in with FSD v14.1.2 and here are my thoughts: First off, Mad Max mode is AMAZING in traffic. Drove down to Hawthorne on my first drive in rush hour and it cut through traffic so well. An hour drive without any human input was great. The other Speed Profiles seem like they make slightly more difference than before. Standard is perfect on city streets, hurry is a bit quicker and the lane changes are more assertive than v14.1.1. Mad Max is a bit quick at times on city streets with nobody around, as expected. The assertive lane changes are my second favorite change, after mad max. It doesn’t wait around a bit like v14.1 and v14.1.1, it commits and sends it if safe, love it. I have NOT really seen any brake stutter yet, seems gone so far. I saw one instance of slight steering wheel shaking but that’s it over the last few hours. Few things to note with Mad Max. It’s fast, but it’s very safe. It’s not going to cut people off- it makes great decisions and they’re clearly calculated. It is NOT like the Altima with a missing bumper you see flying through traffic, it’s very controlled and I love it. This is exactly what we needed for LA and it’s almost how I like to drive through traffic and how you have to drive through LA. Lane changes in each profile seem improved in this build too. Definitely noticeably better and more confident. With parking garages, I’m seeing good performance, but to note- 1 of 4 garage attempts so far it went further from the ticket booth than it used to. Feels like maybe .1 had better lot performance, but I’m going to a lot of driving tonight to make sure. It definitely obeys no right on red signs, I’ve seen it listen to every single one perfectly so far, even obscure signs. It moves over for lane splitting motorcycles well before I can see them- this increases safety for everyone especially the motorcyclists and they appreciate it. A couple of them have waved at me tonight alone to thank me. Moved over for the two construction zones I have encountered thus far, and slowed down. Standard seems like the Goldilocks profile when on city streets with no traffic to follow- doesn’t speed much and usually travels at the perfect speed. Mad max is fast when nobody around- but really good speed control when there’s cars on the road. When you enable FSD from park, I love how quickly it gets going. If it’s safe, it goes right away, feels like it’s always waiting and ready to go. Pretty awesome improvement over v13 and continually impresses me. Autosteer and TACC are back, will get some miles accumulated on autosteer for those wondering if it’s changed at all, but I don’t think it has much if it did. Here’s a 15 minute zero intervention drive just now from Santa Monica supercharger to Rodeo Drive, where it obeyed a one way sign to the little parking lot and went the next entrance in once it saw. I’m going to drive this more through the night, and then will take it out during rush hour a lot. Huge shoutout to Tesla AI teams for getting these releases out so quickly. They’re making magic happen. More to come, but I’m loving what I’m seeing!

FSD v14.3.4 first impressions: noticeable change in city street driving. Feels like it could be called FSD v14.4. Definitely could deserve more than a dot release, Mad Max is better around city traffic- will test parking now but first drive was great, 35 min zero interventions.

Another mode I was testing was a large survival mode with lots of enemies. Although it is kind of cool to see all the enemies like this, it isn't very fun to play, which is why the original game became more linear.

Today I had the opportunity to take a long Robotaxi ride with Tesla Owners Silicon Valley , covering most scenarios: highways, city streets, narrow & curvy mountain roads, construction sites, downtown traffic, pedestrians, etc. I’m very impressed to see how smooth, confident and safe the ride was, even on narrow roads where Robotaxi encountered oncoming traffic and was able to move forward with no hesitation. That was my first-ever Robotaxi ride. I was thinking it was on Chill Mode. Actually it was on Standard Mode.

With all the buzz around the Codex App, OpenAI Developers quietly snuck out a new CLI update (0.94.0) as well. And boy is it an important update! Codex Plan mode is now officially released to the general audience! I am very excited about this one as it has a really strong prompt that is unlike any other plan mode I've personally used. Codex Plan mode doesn't necessarily just ask you 3 questions up front. It goes, collects context, asks questions, collects more context, asks more questions (sometimes), and then writes an incredibly high quality plan. It is my favorite implementation of plan mode thus far. It also comes with Codex's own version of "AskUserQuestion!" Although, it only works in Plan mode for now. They really need to allow people to use it in Code mode as well, but one win at a time. npm i -g @openai/codex Below is a demo of how it works. Let me know what you think!

Here is my 1 hour drive on FSD 13.2 mostly in "Hurry" mode. For those of you that dislike how slow FSD can be... this is for you. Lots of cool stuff in this 10x video, but some notable moments: 1:31 - Lowered max speed when I saw a cop. I lowered max a few times in this drive. 2:14 - Watch Hurry blast past everyone to be the first on the highway 2:40 - Hurry likes to be at FSD's max of 85mph... it will move over for faster traffic, but likes to get right back into the passing lane 3:38 - A difficult combined highway entrance/exit handled gracefully

It feels polished vs 14.3 and it my opinion is ready for wide release. • With 14.3.1, you can now tap on the new "P" parking icon and bring up your different parking options • Mad Max mode on the highway feels slightly more conservative with top speed (favors low 80s more often), but will now get to the right lanes sooner to prepare for exiting the highway. In this first drive, Mad Max did not go above 83mph, despite no cars around me most of the time. Follow distance is also more comfortable. I like all these things. • I'm having zero brake stabbing issues on 14.3.1, whereas I had a couple on my first drive with 14.3 • Urban lane selection is better vs 14.3 • Navigation routes and occasional parking alignment still need some work, but that's not a reason to hold back wide release. It still surprises me how much quicker V14.3 reacts to things. If a car pulls out of a parking spot as you drive by, FSD hits the brakes before you even know what's going on. The 20% better reaction time is definitely noticeable.

Mad max on the highway. This is the only stressful thing when using FSD anymore for me. “Will it get over in time”. All the profiles wait too long to get over on v13 on my Cybertruck. Mad Max waited till the last second as you can see. Will do more testing on standard and hurry tonight when we take her out on a date very far away in the city

Speed limit is 70. Truck accelerates slowly to 60 and no faster without an accelerator tap. It’s been like this for months across every FSD version. Accelerator taps are constant just to keep it going the speed limit. According to some people, I’m doing it wrong for not being in hurry mode… Tesla AI
