Anakin and Dooku’s rematch on Naboo isn’t just one of the best, most intense lightsaber duels to come from The Clone Wars, but it’s also some really dark foreshadowing for Revenge of the Sith. Palpatine using this confrontation as a secret way to see if Anakin’s skills now outmatch his current apprentice’s is absolutely diabolical. Dooku almost didn’t make it Episode III with Anakin moving like that.

Have always found it interesting that Gennedy Tartakovsky and his team decided to foreshadow Anakin becoming Darth Vader with an animated cave drawing in the 2003 Clone Wars series. No dialogue whatsoever, just a purely visual demonstration of one man’s desires ultimately descending him further into darkness. Incredible.

Palpatine’s plan was so complex that even with the Jedi Council having this knowledge, he would still win, all while further pushing Anakin towards the Dark Side.

I’ve always had an appreciation for this small moment from The Clone Wars where Ahsoka rescues Anakin from Buzz Droids destroying his Jedi Interceptor. It’s a brief, fun scene, but one that shows a lot of growth for Ahsoka’s character, and how exactly Anakin’s training has ultimately equipped her for survival. Also perfectly foreshadows Anakin saving Obi-Wan from a Buzz Droid attack at the start of Revenge of the Sith. It’s like poetry, it rhymes!

Really love how Gennedy Tartakovsky chose a temple on Yavin IV as the prime location for Anakin’s lightsaber duel with Asajj Ventress in the 2003 Clone Wars micro-series. Not only is the animation nothing short of incredible, but I really love how a location that further pushed Anakin towards the Dark Side was the same one that, decades later, would be a defining moment for Luke’s journey in The Light.

These guys immediately gave up after Anakin got the high ground. Thats one powerful high ground, reason why i love clone wars is that it almost justified Anakins actions later down the line. multiple times throughout the show, we see Anakin go rogue and do his own thing. and he gets results. his way works a lot of the time

In honor of Revenge of the Sith’s 19th Anniversary, reminder that MTV used the files for the tie-in game to make Anakin Skywalker sing ‘Take Me Out’ by Franz Ferdinand to a crowd of Clone Troopers. This was aired on LIVE TV and is still the most 2005 thing I’ve ever seen.

It’s really amazing that the very first episode of The Clone Wars still has one of the best moments from the entire series IMO. Yoda telling his Clone Troopers to remove their helmets to let them know that although they may look the same, they are all different people, is honestly such a great scene. What a phenomenal way to immediately further develop and add more layers to The Republic’s army from The Prequels.
